WTF? Are you serious? I hope to hades this is sarcasm.Anyone that stood tall and strong like Jones did during those last three turbulent years he was here, gets full respect from me. I don't care at all about some insignificant comment that none of us were in the room to hear the context. We all say silly things that we wish we could have back.
He was a loyal, hard worker, full of optimism coaching change after coaching change. The only problem he suffered from was the excessive hype that one poster from his hometown brought to this board.
I don't give a damn how "noble" or "strong" he was during the coaching changes. He was playing college football at Tennessee while getting a free education. It's not like he was one of the Unknown Soldiers or something. He was a marginal receiver on some bad teams. He probably never left because he knew attrition would keep him on the field unlike at some other programs. He turned his back and "recruited" for Auburn, let him go stand tall and proud and get a job on their staff or hell maybe he can suit up for them considering they don't have to adhere to the rules anway. With that said.....GO VOLS
Lol real fansWow. After reading some of these posts in this thread and remembering the past bashing of GJ I just have to say that some of you are so pathetic. You take something he said about Troop and turn it into something else. What a bunch of losers bashing him for this. This has been going on for far too long and is embarrassing to real Tennessee fans. Pitiful and pathetic. Get a life.
Wow, after reading the first two pages on this thread, I get the feeling that people think G.J. was a mediocre receiver and a terrible human being. I seem to recall G.J. being a damn good receiver who saved us on many occasions. But maybe I didn't watch him as closely as I thought.
edit:
Also, will always remember the G-gun. Woo!

I suppose it's all about perspective. Folks on Volnation seem to have a pretty myopic viewpoint of the UT fanbase. Most assume if the same sentiment is echoed a handful of times, in one lone thread, that the fanbase as whole must feel the same way. I don't buy that. Your average UT fan that doesn't belong to VN probably wouldn't have a clue about the Jones/TT situation.

GJ had a good game against Pittsburgh and even flashed a :loco: after scoring one. The Eagles didn't have any room in the slot and he's not fast enough to be a threat on the outside. Hope he lands on his feet with another team.
Just going on the record that I am a GJ fan and will always wish him the best. Saves our ass on third down all year last year, but I always cheered and still do for Arian Foster.
Nobody's perfect.
