I don't give a damn how "noble" or "strong" he was during the coaching changes. He was playing college football at Tennessee while getting a free education. It's not like he was one of the Unknown Soldiers or something. He was a marginal receiver on some bad teams. He probably never left because he knew attrition would keep him on the field unlike at some other programs. He turned his back and "recruited" for Auburn, let him go stand tal
l and proud and get a job on their staff or
hell maybe he can suit up for them
considering they don't have to adhere to the rules anway. With that said.....GO VOLS
If Wes Rucker had a clue about what he was talking about, especially with Eagles football, he would know it was a 1/100 chance Jones would make this roster.I feel ya. Wes was GOING OFF the other night when G Jones caught those TD's, about how basically he was right about Jones, and everyone else was wrong. Pretty sure he stopped just short of tweeting "I told you so." It's only a matter of time before he gets the soapbox back out to justify this cut.
Wow really! This kid was high on Trooper not Auburn. A recruit ask him a question and he answered it, that is all. It wasn't like he was in the UT locker room with an Auburn shirt on screaming war eagle. It's funny how grown men can hold such a huge grudge over a kid they don't even know. Go Vols!

The guy didn't recruit for Auburn, don't be a bunch of tool bags.
He said that the man that whom recruited him and built a relationship with him was a good guy. Say what you want about Trooper, but all Jones did was say his thoughts about a guy he liked. Maybe I missed the part where he said "Hey Gabe, don't go to Tennessee, they suck, Dooley sucks, and Troop's gawt swag."
Grow up, he was and is a Vol.

Trooper knowingly put him in a bad position. The notion he "cares" about his former players is a joke. Gerald was unfortunate enough to step in a pile of dog crap because he trusted a man who didn't deserve it. Troop knew how this would make GJ look to Vol fans, he just didn't care. Pathetic excuse for a man.
Curious what your opinion of Lane Kiffin is?
So I take it by this your are asking if I hate Lane Kiffin or cringe when his name
Is brought up? No I don't actually. Lane left and I will admit I was irritated at first but I moved on just like UT did. This whole thing sparked because G Jones was brought up. Jones was a solid player for UT everyone was singing his praises ( you were for most likely on of them) for helping on third and being a leader and once he told a kid that he loved Trooper everyone jumped ship on him and started bashing him.

Anyone that stood tall and strong like Jones did during those last three turbulent years he was here, gets full respect from me. I don't care at all about some insignificant comment that none of us were in the room to hear the context. We all say silly things that we wish we could have back.
He was a loyal, hard worker, full of optimism coaching change after coaching change. The only problem he suffered from was the excessive hype that one poster from his hometown brought to this board.
