Fulmer's Quotes

no it isn't. It has always been be competitive with the best and don't underperform. We haven't been close to competitive with the best in our conference and we have underperformed for a decade. We got some breaks in 98 and cashed in. Prior to that, we won, but never played to our talent level. People gloss that over, but David Palmer happened.

Delicious. You have truly embarked on the most ridiculous (most meaningless too) winding narrative ever. And it deliciously ends with "David Palmer happened."

David Palmer happened. You mean the NC winning David Palmer happened? You mean one of the sickest college defenses ever assembled? You mean the game the first game in a decade Alabama didn't beat Tennessee?

Game, Set, and Match. Please, I can't wait to see the next paragraph. This has been fun ^ 2.

you might do some homework here. The national championship team was gone, we were by far, like a mile, the better team and Fulmered away our first W in a decade. Maybe you'll also find out that the defense was absolutely gutted and was replaced with awful. That team started AL's roll into the abyss. Our ineptitude on the bench falsely buoyed their hopes a bit.

This is a serious question, so lets not jump down my throat with fulmer lover crap, but what exactly does everyone have against him? He played at UT, he understands the traditions, which Hamilton clearly doesn't care about or understand, he is loyal, and gave us the only national championship in my lifetime and I am sure yours as well. He is flawed sure, but who isn't. I believe Doug Dicky was an outstanding AD and believe Fulmer, would be much the same.

Oh no. No I don't need to do any homework.

Really. You going to tell me about the offensive option available to that AL team? You gonna tell me about that great defense? Copeland and Curry were awesome...oh wait. But Teague, on the other hand...

Come off it.

he did lose Cutcliffe and Garner. Replaced them with guys who couldn't tell him no. Done and done.

Exactly.

You should lose a coach from time to time, if they are good. Replacing them is on you. Or in this case Phil.

The result of those departures is a historical fact, and one of the main reasons he is no longer the coach.

It's darkest before dawn. Saban came in and lost to lafeyette and now look at the midget go.

Or sometimes it's just midnight most of the time.

76-38 this decade for fulmer. sad

stop. You're making the half baked stats look less than he intended. Forget that the schedule is now up to 13 games, unless you suck, which only happened in two out his last 4 seasons before the hammer fell.

Would have won seven without the Hambone Experiment in 2008.

Not great but actually unbelievable given the State of Crompton.

Probably would have won seventeen, which lives up yo' the exact same level of credulity. Cool how this unsubstantiated hypothetical gibberish works. Would try again.

The punks who write in this negative stuff constantly about Coach Fulmer know so little about winning football and the great program he built and maintained over the long pull, their opinions wreak of ignorance!

Where is Fulmer winning right now? Louisville? Kansas? Clempson? Georgia Tech? Texas Tech? USC?

Calling the guy names, and taking personal shots at the man is silly.

His record over the last several years speaks for itself tho.

Dude the problem is that he didnt know how to let go and see when he led us down the road we are on...look at the root of where we are now it goes back to fulmer...that was only 2 seasons ago

Now he has the nerve to say this is "hard to watch"??? The only reason it's hard for him to watch is because he sees that he is the cause and he probably thinks he can fix it!

I defended Fulmer getting his chance. He got it. He failed. He's gone. It is time for him to take an honest look at himself and let go.

Where was his DD like honesty when his team quit vs UF on multiple occasions? How about the last Bama blow out he presided over?

The culture needed to change... not the UT traditions and southern charm... but the lazy, undisciplined, privileged because I'm here culture. It was that culture that made them satisfied with being the perpetual bridesmaid in the SEC. It was that culture that made it OK for UT to have the same kind of discipline problems that "everyone else has".

I guess CPF is trying to deflect Dooley's comments without taking them on directly. In a way that is helpful if not admirable... or else he's still just in a deep state of denial about his contribution to the decline. But what Dooley is honestly saying about the state of the program is a function of Fulmer, Hamilton, and Kiffin. Fulmer bears at least as much blame if not more than the other two.

It is a shame that the man has descended to this level.
