Fulmer writes response to Adams Article

I'd say Adams is getting just the response he was looking for.

I don't agree.

I think Adams never ever expected this. I think Fulmer killed any credibility Adams may have had, if he had any. I think when Adams thinks about this honestly, he'll see that he was incredibly wrong about some of his comments in his column.

Did you actually read his article? Have you ever read his articles before? Do you listen to him on the radio?

Yes, yes, and yes. I'm not saying I agree with everything Adams has ever said, but in this instance, he was spot on.

If Pinochio says the sky is blue, are you going to say he's lying or are you going to acknowledge the truth when you hear it?

Adams forgot what city he was in.

Say what you will about CPF, but the man has some loyal followers and does a lot of things around Knoxville to help out (community service stuff).

You don't know much about the ego of journalists. The only way he will feel bad is if he gets heat from his bosses. Period. There is a time and place for this type article. He has the right just like all of us to write his opinions and just like us he must face the consequences for those he makes public. I have a feeling Mr Adams just put a lot of heat on himself.

How many coaches in the SEC would have kicked James Banks off their team?
Ontario Smith?
Dustin Moore?
Travis Cozart?
To suggest that Fulmer would not kick off a starter is just not true.

He was right about Colquitt. We all know Colquitt should be gone right now... but

Adams was immature and incredibly stupid to bring up NFL players off the field incidents.

He's a d-bag.

Ego has nothing to do with hearing facts and not being able to dispute them.

I know I have privately emailed Adams in the past about this very subject, about 2 years ago, where he basically said the same thing to me he said in his column. When I pointed out that Fulmer had kicked starters off the team in the past and gave examples, he conceded maybe he'd overstated himself.

I think this is the case this time also. He spouted off, which is his right, but when the room is dark and it's only him, whether he goes public with it or not, he knows he said too much.

Exactly. As long as he's getting a reaction, he's relevant and sells papers.

Hack - a person, as an artist or writer, who exploits, for money, his or her creative ability or training in the production of dull, unimaginative, and trite work; one who produces banal and mediocre work in the hope of gaining commercial success in the arts

I'd say Adams is a hack.

I'd say Adams is a hack.

Hack was originally used to describe someone who was basically hired at the last second to put together an article. Kind of like being "on order."

Not at all, actually. Adams is just not clever or funny, but it doesn't mean he's a hack. If the KNS called him every quarter for a piece, then he'd be a hack.

That up there ^^^ is the definition. Adams is, by definition, a hack.

1 a: hackney b (1): taxicab (2): cabdriver2 a (1): a horse let out for common hire (2): a horse used in all kinds of work b: a horse worn out in service : jade c: a light easy saddle horse; especially : a three-gaited saddle horse d: a ride on a horse3 a: a person who works solely for mercenary reasons : hireling <party hacks> b: a writer who works on order; also : a writer who aims solely for commercial success

That is from Webster. Check it out. Adams, being the EDITOR, is not a hack.
