Fulmer statement on Warlick

Can we not have 4 players that can hit the three for 40%?

Most teams are lucky to have 1 player that can do that. Tennessee has Rennia and Evina at 38% on a reasonable number of attempts, which is a very good number. I compared to UConn, and it's the same clip that Dangerfield, Samuelson and Williams shoot from deep (surprisingly, Walker leads the team with a 44% clip). Looking at the stats, they also take a ton more 3s than Tennessee does (604 attempts vs. 449 attempts for Tennessee). I think because the deep shot is such an important part of the UConn offense, players that didn't have that consistent range in HS develop it there. Neither Dangerfield or Walker were known for their outside shot in HS, but have gotten very comfortable with it in college. Too bad we don't see the same with Tennessee players.

They also shoot "3" in rhythm
and as an option in transition offense

Sound like he doesn't know anything about basketball to me. How many years has she been the HC and what has she done? Every year she has singed All Americans and can't coach a lick. The reason he extended her contract is they both have been at Tennessee for long time. Friendship has gotten in the way of good judgement.

Coach Fulmer needs to put the health and future of the Tennessee women's basketball program over his friendship with Holly Warlick and make a coaching change at the end of the season

Hopefully his statement represents the effort of a friend to let a friend bow out at the end of the season rather than suffer the indignity of early departure when it won't help this team perform - it's too late. Holly is very much part of Pat's Legacy, literally and figuratively, but I'm afraid Holly's name and lagacy is forever tarnished.

"Our Lady Vols basketball team is a much younger squad. They’ve battled back recently from some adversity early in the SEC play, but progress is evident — a recent road win at Missouri was a great example of impressive execution on both ends of the floor in crunch time. They’ve won five of their last seven games, and I expect Coach Warlick’s team to continue to grow and gain confidence as we march toward the postseason."

Sounds like a vote of confidence to me.

Means either Fulmer is clueless or scared period. The team has no clue how to play and Holly can't coach.
