"Our Lady Vols basketball team is a much younger squad. They’ve battled back recently from some adversity early in the SEC play, but progress is evident — a recent road win at Missouri was a great example of impressive execution on both ends of the floor in crunch time. They’ve won five of their last seven games, and I expect Coach Warlick’s team to continue to grow and gain confidence as we march toward the postseason."

Sounds like a vote of confidence to me.

I agree. She's safe for now....whether the fans like it or not.

Very disappointing to hear Fulmer say that. It's not just this team, it is the body of work. She can be given 7-8 more years and she will not win a NC, and probably not make a Final 4.

Get a grip folks. What did you expect him to say? "Yep, I'm firing that no good blankety-blank right after the season ends."

It is clear that Fulmer has no interest and/or viable option for a late season coaching change so of course, he is going to say supportive things at this point in the season. The real assessment and decision will come at the end of the season.

Really, it is not that complicated. Public statements like these are always calculated ones and not the direct expression of actual plans that are going on behind the scenes.

Sad evaluation of last 7 games. Two blowout losses to ranked teams. He is satisfied with LVs being a mediocre program.

Coach Fulmer is a friend of Holly Warlick and that along with the Tennessee athletic department being in the red means she will be Tennessee women's basketball coach for many years to come.

Still makes me sick at my stomach to read that statement from Fulmer. They have won 5 of last 7 sure, after losing six in a row.

Usually a vote of confidence ends with a pink slip.....

Interesting that Fulmer observes the team as blossoming and "marching" toward the postseason while Warlick most recently observed the team to be "uninspired and uninterested." More evidence of discombobulation?

Really? Actually makes you sick to your stomach? Being serious here but is that exaggeration for effect or does sports actually have that effect on you?

Not every thing is literal in language. Sick at my stomach is a common expression that often describes something that upsets you.

And yes I am very upset at the current condition of the LV BB program. I have closely followed LV BB since 1984 as a student at UT, prior to Pat’s phenomenal success.
IMO, UT is three years too late in firing CHW and Fulmer’s statement was unnecessary. If he really believes that the team winning 5 of 7 is a sign of progress, then UT has bigger problems in the AD than Holly.

So, they are 5 and 8 over the last 13 games. That's basically since the SEC season started. Phil Phulmer doesn't have the vocabulary to have written that. It's just a PR statement anyway.

Welp, looks like someone gets it.

I am hoping this is the case. It would not surprise if the decision for her to step down had already been made and this is a way for her to ease out like it was her decision or the total opposite could be true and she stays regardless of how low we go.
