Today in the SEC there is not one , but in history I can think of many former coaches in multiple sports who went on to be AD. My point is that being a head coach doesnt determine the success of later becoming an AD.
I think this situation would be very unique in that the coach who was fired by the AD comes back to replace the AD that fired him. Never heard that one so I cant say I can give an example. You have to love the irony.
