Fulmer debate extravaganza (merged)

It doesnt matter. It dont take a great coach to win in the SEC if your at the right spot. Bowden, Fulmer, Tubberville, Chizik, and Miles have all had undefeated seasons.

Are you saying that Les Miles, who is about to go for title ring number 2, isn't a great coach?

I'm sorry....I look out for my own. Fulmer is a Vol through and through---he gave his all for Tennessee....and he was a great coach.

To see his name run through the mud consistently on these boards is a disgrace to our fan base. The fact of the matter and the thesis of this entire thread---Firing Fulmer was a bad idea in retrospect. Hindsight being 20/20----yes...yes it was. Some of us were against this action from the beginning, and it's obviously frustrating as all ****, to see the worst case scenario that could have happened---play out the way it did, especially when there are those of us that vehemently protested it from the beginning.

Wilcox leaving yesterday opens up those stitches---and I get really ****ing aggravated with people that I feel were the root of the problem. I apologize for my tone. I know I don't post much here, but I'm an alum, my last year was Fulmer's last year---and best believe I was frustrated my senior year when we lost to Wyoming for homecoming, my sister is currently a Vol--and I love Tennessee. It pains me to see the state of the Vols.

Please just stop running down someone who dedicated himself to our university, especially when it's painfully obvious that there are few coaches at the NCAA level that would be able to match Fulmer's dedication.

Not dragging his name through the mud, but it was obvious his time had come and gone. Whether the correct hires were made afterward is irrelevant. You do not hold onto a coach just because of your incompetence to hire another one.
Not sure what wilcox leaving has to do with anything. If anything it is a plus for dooley and a negative for dooley. Good coaches hire people that are coveted by other programs, which Dooley has done. Fulmer on the other hand survived off of cutcliffe and chavis who were already on majors staff, and then when cutcliffe left hired people like randy sanders and Dave Clawson when cutcliffe left.
As to your last point you have no clue if other coaches match his dedication. How many times have you spent in the office with them seeing how late they stay going over film and gameplanning. Bottom line is that fans do not truly know the dedication of any coach so that is a baseless comment.

I'm sure in reality most people who post pics like this have to get permission to go piss.

Guess again. I'm sure I'm old enough to be your daddy or grand dad. See if mommy will let you play on the internet more tonite to respond. Say please. Always works best.

I guess you arent "most people" then.

She said it was ok to respond, that please stuff really works!

I would cordially like to disagree with your wife and ask you to convince her tomorrow that it was the right thing to do.

Are you saying that Les Miles, who is about to go for title ring number 2, isn't a great coach?

He is. I would say its a certainty he will eventually fall victim to a bad season or 2 & fans will call for his head. Every fan base has those spoiled & ignorant fans when things are going good & their worse when they lose.

Spousal abuse/domestic violence is a reality, and a very ugly one.

whoa!! You taking all this as serious? Man message boards are for saying things we want to have some fun hiding behind a computer with a lame screenname. Well according to Mickey Dearstone anyways. ha Noone in here I would imagine condones beating women but it is funny to pretend as though small minor things are worthy of the firm backhand.

If Phil wasn't a great coach, neither is the Grass Eater.

Based on what? You didn't give a reason other than Phil wasn't a great coach (which could be debatable) so Les Miles can't be either. Les Miles is a great coach who will see more success at LSU than Fulmer saw at Tennessee, and up until the last few years, Fulmer was a damn good coach.

Not at Ok State and when he started at LSU.

You mean he had to get experience to become a great coach? Well now I've heard it all.

she is always threatening to do that.:)

Who would have saved us?

Pick any marginal Big 12 coach and they will win in the SEC with the right resouces. Gene Stallings went from 27-45 at Texas AM to world beater at Alabama. This just shows you how far below marginal Mike Shula and Derek Dooley are.

So you're saying Dooley has had recourses & stallings never had a bad season at bama? Lol ok.

I understand it's all "in good fun." The nosebleed pic was just too far, IMO.
