I'm sorry....I look out for my own. Fulmer is a Vol through and through---he gave his all for Tennessee....and he was a great coach.
To see his name run through the mud consistently on these boards is a disgrace to our fan base. The fact of the matter and the thesis of this entire thread---Firing Fulmer was a bad idea in retrospect. Hindsight being 20/20----yes...yes it was. Some of us were against this action from the beginning, and it's obviously frustrating as all ****, to see the worst case scenario that could have happened---play out the way it did, especially when there are those of us that vehemently protested it from the beginning.
Wilcox leaving yesterday opens up those stitches---and I get really ****ing aggravated with people that I feel were the root of the problem. I apologize for my tone. I know I don't post much here, but I'm an alum, my last year was Fulmer's last year---and best believe I was frustrated my senior year when we lost to Wyoming for homecoming, my sister is currently a Vol--and I love Tennessee. It pains me to see the state of the Vols.
Please just stop running down someone who dedicated himself to our university, especially when it's painfully obvious that there are few coaches at the NCAA level that would be able to match Fulmer's dedication.
Are you saying that Les Miles, who is about to go for title ring number 2, isn't a great coach?
Spousal abuse/domestic violence is a reality, and a very ugly one.
If Phil wasn't a great coach, neither is the Grass Eater.
Not at Ok State and when he started at LSU.
whoa!! You taking all this as serious? Man message boards are for saying things we want to have some fun hiding behind a computer with a lame screenname. Well according to Mickey Dearstone anyways. ha Noone in here I would imagine condones beating women but it is funny to pretend as though small minor things are worthy of the firm backhand.
Pick any marginal Big 12 coach and they will win in the SEC with the right resouces. Gene Stallings went from 27-45 at Texas AM to world beater at Alabama. This just shows you how far below marginal Mike Shula and Derek Dooley are.
