This could be very interesting. It is the last thing we need right now. Another accusation against a program that is already in trouble with the NCAA. I hope it is not true.

the saddest part of that fairy tale is that we were outbid by Auburn.

Ok what scum bag would even want to record this crap? I mean who does that? Geez. The witch hunt is on. I dont think kiffen had anything to do with it. Kiffy had to know the crap was going down at usc. Plus kiffin was all about a pro-style qb.

Just the mention of this scares me. We all know this game is dirty and driven by fans and boosters to win. If a coach does not get near a national title within 3-4 years he is canned and the school moves on to the next guy. Coaches are under more pressure to win then they ever have been and it is driving these unethical actions. At the same time with technology we, the fan, are closer to the players, coaches, game and info than we ever have been. If a player farts at 9am it will be on the message boards that he has shat himself by 10:02. We live in a modern and fast world of info and it is as dirty as ever and with camera/video phones and web access everywhere we go in the palm of our hand there will continue to be stuff like this reported at every school because it goes on everywhere.

It sounds like some pro-Mississippi St. to me. It sounds like they are trying to throw UT and Auburn under the bus to make MSU look innocent.

I do think this is all building up to the piece that HBO is working on about being dirty in college football and that is probably why they have not been leaked and I would say HBO is paying for them so they are the source of the story. I have read it is going to expose Auburn and others as well.

If Cecil Newton said it on tape, it hardly qualifies as a Miss. St. conspiracy.

Cam really wasn't the type of QB Tennessee was looking for. No one could have predicted that he would be a Heisman winning and National Championship QB and Tennessee was looking for a pro-style QB. Why would Tennessee pay 150,000 for a guy they didn't think fit their system?

Who's to say that Cecil Newton wasn't just claiming that Tennessee offered to drive up the price for Cam to another school?

following what john pennington writes: the first mistake.

interesting that a call in show in Huntsville, Alabama would demonize Auburn and Tennessee.

Miss State turned Auburn in to the SEC for this a while ago.

If true, why would they not turn Tennessee in as well? This sounds bad, but there are too many questions bouncing around the Auburn/Cecil Newton deal for me to believe it right now.

I would believe it more if it were Jesse Scroggins but Cam Newton wasn't a pro style QB that Tennessee was looking for. I think Tennessee has done a lot of things wrong over the last few years but not this. This is one time I think UT is innocent.

Ok, I call BS. This sounds like ole Cecil was trying to get a bigger offer. I do this every time I buy a car. So and so down the street is offering this, what can you do.
