It never really does though. Most of the time we get innuendo and second hand stories that omit selected portions.
A classy note to Vol fans on FB:
"While it was not my choice for Jalen to leave Tennessee (and we were adamant about this), this is a decision that he put a lot of thought into and certainly did not take lightly. It is not my place to discuss his business and the reasons that hes decided to transfer, but at the end of the day, he believed that it was best for everyone. People are mad, hurt and very upset, and I understand that. Yet, the reality is if you dont know what he has been through or what he is going through now, then it is very easy to speculate & judge, make up lies & rumors, or heaven forbid, actually believe them.
Jalen has chosen a different path. We dont always agree with our childrens decisions, but nevertheless, you love and support them through it all no matter what. Thank you to all of our family, friends and Vol supporters that were so kind to us today. We are so thankful and appreciative to the University of Tennessee, the coaching staff and the wonderful fans for all the love and support throughout the years. Many blessings and much success to you all. 💕"

If this is really Jalen's mother, then he is blessed. Also, as I read about his departure, I am starting to understand, if not outright support, his decision to leave.
This VFL is a human battering ram, as he showed so many times in games. His running style does not fit an offensive scheme that requires him to run into a D-line after getting the ball while standing still next to the QB. I am inclined to agree with others that Debord/Butch demanded that he fit into this scheme rather than scheme around Jalen's strengths (e.g. the I formation).
My guess is that Jalen just didn't see himself as having a chance to help his team and be successful running the ball in the zone-read scheme. It is asking a lot of any RB, even a mule like Hurd, to plow into a mass of 300-lb. D-linemen from a standing start...which, in my opinion, is why we saw him start trying to run around the edge so often. But he just didn't have quite the speed of a Kamara or Kelly to do that.
Best wishes to you, Jalen, wherever you land. Thanks for the great play.

I just have a feeling that the program has some serious issues. Where there is smoke, there is usually fire. I don't think the players have the confidence in the coaches to consistently get it done. UT should have 5 losses right now and if it weren't for a very talented team, that would probably be the case. Remember when Dooley lost the team? Feels very similar. This sux and I'm tired of it. Here is a committee that id like t see make our next hire for next year: (Not some AD or search committee un related to UT)
Peyton
Al Wilson
Priest
Holloway
Henderson
Shuler
Travis Stephens
Whole thing reeks of a spoiled brat...her comments only support this theory....o well.... just gives the next kid in line a chance...NEXT!!!!...and GBO!!!!
