Friday weigh in thread (suns out guns out challenge 8/30/2025)

178.8 today. Lost 40 lbs in 6 months. Strict keto. Goal is 170. Last 10 lbs are the most difficult.
Do you have a plan for maintenance?
I’ve found through years of fluctuating weight that if I shift to maintenance mode with 5-10 pounds to go then it became a lifestyle and not a diet. I also found that my ideal weight was 10 pounds heavier than my goal.

That's becoming the biggest revelation for me as well. What I found out is that I can do functional exercise and keep my body in a place where I can do whatever I want to. I can lift heavy things, I can climb stairs all day long, I can get up and down on the floor whenever I want, and I generally feel great. Weight wise, keeping the trash food to a minimum (salty snacks) will keep be at the top end of
"healthy" weight on the BMI scale, but still under "overweight". It's working really good for me right now.

Basically once I reach 170 keep mostly keto (mine is lean meats and low carb veggies, low sodium, no table salt - only sea salt, no artificial sweeteners - only 100% pure stevia) but kick in some natural carbs like potatoes.

Basically, eat as little processed diet as possible (keep doing that) and monitor weight fluctuations.

I’ve also been working out more doing scrap metal moving heavy stuff almost daily as my side hustle while I save up for my Tex-mex food trailer. So, that has helped.
