I know this is only one man's opinion but thought it interesting of Terry Fair...

UT is using "young team" as crutch and that a lot of teams are "young".

Alot of teams are young but they have upper classmen contributing in key roles.

Terry Fair is right. It's on the job training for this coaching staff in the SEC.

The young team and young staff are going through growing pains together. Yes, there are other young teams, but not many that have gone through 3 changes in 3 years and have had their teams decimated by turnover.
It's a combination of everything, including missing upperclass leadership due to players leaving. Who do the young guys look up to right now?

I've talked to Terry before, and he should know this.

It amazes me how people that should know better can ignore what has happened the past 3 years and the obvious impact it's had on the product on the field.

These people have no clue, man. People seem to be blind to reality.

IMO, it's fine for us as fans to chalk things up to youth and inexperience, as that is often the true issue. My only hope is that the players don't have that same mindset. Whatever happens on the field, they need to own it, remember it, and learn from it.

I'm sure Fair refuses to accept the role that his former coach has played in these struggles.

please name the teams that compare to UT's situation and are doing better...

Nobody can because there aren't any in college football. It takes what seems like forever to rebuild when the cupboard is bare and there are multiple NCAA investigations hovering over your head scaring away potential recruits.

I didn't read Fair's comments, but does it really make me blind to reality to expect our DCoordinator to be able to pressure the QB on 3rd and 10--with MJackson, JSmith, CMaggitt, and DVereen? Or am I blind to expect our DC to adjust and not put his vulnerable and outmatched CBs in man-man coverage after they've been toasted numerous times in the game already?

I completely understand our predicament--and have reasonable expectations--I thought this game would be close and that our guys would fight through and win an extremely hard-fought victory--

I'm extremely pleased with the attitude and toughness of our players--and I do expect 2012 and 2013 to be much better--but I have no hope that Wilcox will ever succeed in the SEC...color me what you must--and I sincerely hope that I'm wrong--but I do remember that Spurrier's DC--and his personal friend--couldn't cut it in the SEC--and him hiring Bob Stoops and the rest is history. IMHO--same thing will HAVE to happen with Wilcox...

GO VOLS! :salute:

I watched Terry Fair on The Locker Room and he was backing Dooley and saying the fans needed to stop this "hot seat" talk and give the man some time to rebuild. Don't know why he would make those comments on twitter.

Yeah, Terry Fair, a former vol player and NFL player can't be expected to know as much as you.

If he's spreading that crap, he's either stupid or not acknowledging reality. Take your pick. You're more along the lines of the former.

You can't. Someone that refuses to acknowledge that is an idiot, imo.

I'm not going to say much because right now everyone seems bat shizz crazy with another loss and the loss of TB. I am disappointed but you look at this team, the injuries, the turnover and I ask all these pissed off or moaning fans including Terry, what are you expecting?

IMO TB was off yesterday, our receivers were covered and our run game was our run game. It played out to an 8 PT shoot ourselves in the foot fest for a multitude of reasons. Most of which will not be fixed by LSU or this season.

Nobody is claiming to be brilliant here. The talent and experience gap is glaring though.

Call it a crutch, an excuse etc . . . but how can you look at the roster and not conclude that youth and depth is a huge problem?

Oh I know. But coaching can make up for some of it, and I've yet to see it up to this point.
