For those who think fans have no impact

No need to continue the debate. Volbamafan will always argue the negavol side of every debate. Your point was clear. The arguably best college football coach of all time stresses fan support. A positive fan base is beneficial for a team. Simple enough. You can literally click on every thread and see volbamafan arguing a negative stance. You'd think he'd tire at some point.
Agreed. Like I said, I knew he’d be one of the first to respond. Just didn’t expect it to be that quick!

1. Answered already: Keep up
2: same as 1
3: as you always say a message board is for discussion, what I’m trying to promote here.
4: have you ever heard of morale? Clearly you’ve never played a sport. A lot of it in your chair sure, but not on your feet.
Sorry I missed the impact on that game.
Reason I bring up the support is because ive seen nothing like that from Tennessee fan base, what ive seen is the exact opposite..ive seen out stadium pack out every game, bms packed out, bowl games with a huge amount of fans and on and on...which is why I dont understand threads like this. This fanbase has been awesome, the only real positive through a decade plus of trash football.
You say the message board is to promote discuss, what I see is you want everyone to agree with you, which doesnt promote discussion.
I know all about morale. I also know about life lessons. If you are getting motivation from nobody internet poster, we have larger issues. So ill resort back to, this fanbase as been one of the only positives around this program for over a decade.

So, you’re telling me, that this dude who’s built a dynasty is saying fans have an impact when it comes to supporting the team, and you’re gonna ignore it. Cmon. I know you like arguing for the sake of arguing, but at least be honest.

But, to answer your question, of course they destroyed ULL, they’re a well coached team. However, I don’t think Saban would just bring it up for no particular reason at all.
Saban brings up all sorts of stuff for no reason. Remeber that time he ranted about something totally opposite of what the reporter asked and he finished with "I dont even know what you asked but I just wanted to say that?" The dude rants about everything.
I saw your post about feeding off the energy. Id argue that we have the opposite problem. The stadium was awesome before the florida game, then the football game happened.

Sincerly sorry you thought all I wanted to do.was argue. I just dont get the constant questioning of this fanbases support, its ridiculous. Obviously your prerogative to do so if you want, but I think you should expect people to disagree with any notion questioning this fanbses loyalty.

So Nick Saban and OP say fan support is important.

Our fan support has never wavered even in the leanest of times.

Sounds like a giant straw man.

And, all the fan support in the world hasn’t helped us win on the field. Or at the O&W game, CJP. 😎

He finally has a perfect team in his eyes with the offense being the best in the country so he’s just finding something to complain about since he can’t complain about his team. Tua literally never turns the ball over and they score a TD on like 70% of his drives. Or at least that’s what it was a couple weeks ago. That’s insane. Georgia is the 2nd best team in the country and this Alabama team will beat them by 3 TDs. That’s how far ahead they are from the rest of the country.

He had this rant before! No one's interested in his child-like behavior. He still gets paid so why should he really care.

Saban is surprised there were so few students at the game, and the ones in attendance aren’t cheering for the team like they used to. It’s because they’re spoiled obviously.

We don’t have that problem despite the turd sandwich we’ve been served for a decade. Our fans show up for games. That will eventually change if we don’t get out of this hole.

Equating his rant to “fans shouldn’t be critical” is a giant leap.

In our case a positive fanbase is a crystal clear signal to the administration that it is doing great and thumbs up full speed ahead toward another decade of obscurity and cost saving. Our positive fanbase keeps the crappy teams coming. The one time the fanbase really got negative it prevented the hiring of a truly inferior coaching prospect. Bama fans appreciating what they have and UT fans saying enough is enough are two completely different things. Morale for UT should be low. They are awful.

A tougher opponent might help. The reality is Alabama plays patsies all year and win by 50..not a lot to get excited about. Playing ULL, Monroe, Citadel, and Chattanooga, Mercer is just a very boring game to watch even on TV.

I viewed his statement as a means of addressing the complacency that comes with continued success. The bama fans leaving early into the second half or even earlier is a sign of that complacency and I think that he is trying to stop that from bleeding over to his team. But I suspect if they have a few tight games and actually play a talented and well coached team their fans will get off their complacent butts. Not that I care though.

Bill King said this morning the students are "board." They also played a "tomato can" last week.
I can see that.
Also, bandwagon fans get tired of riding the same hay filled wagon all the time. They are ready to smell to other horses a$$ about now.

Of course fans have an impact.

BAMA or any other school wouldn't be able to pay these obscene coaching salaries without fan and donor support.

I’d go one step further. Who wants to watch bama put up 70 on Louisiana on TV? Only people who tune to bama games are bama fans or those of the opposing team or those that watch and think they will get an upset. As soon as that fades, click. Example: Ole Miss jumped to a 7 point lead. As soon as bama score 3 touchdowns, click.
Nick. It is boring. Like watching practice. No drama. People want a bit of a chess match.
It’s like Seinfeld where Kramer was bragging how good he was at karate and at the end of the show, you find out he was fighting little kids.
One day, Bama will return to normal. At that time, a spoiled fan base meltdown will occur. It’ll be beautiful.
