For those who think fans have no impact

How quick would they run Saban if he didn't win? He's a prick, always has been.
They were ready to run him out of town after year 2 if he didn't have a huge turnaround from year 1. That was not an impressive debut season by any means and included a loss to Louisiana-Monroe, who Shula had blown out the season before. Remember he showed up in Tuscaloosa with something of a bad reputation from how he left the Dolphins, and he had no previous ties to the school so he didn't exactly have a ton of leash. Luckily for him they were a top 10 team ahead of schedule, then won the title the next year, so the fans shut up.

I have pity for whoever takes that job after him. That coach will almost surely be fired after 2 or 3 years. With a boatload of cash, sure, but whoever they hire isn't coaching for the money anyway. They are probably more entitled and complacent than any fanbase has been in the history of CFB.

Happens every time. Sometimes i wonder if the University side just sends a troll or two on to tell everyone to shut up and make sure you get your tickets and donation in on time.
Well that’s an awfully asinine thought. You like conspiracy videos?

Saban is a 1st class prick but his rant about the fan support is useless.

If Bama fans wanna go to the games and watch their team win by +4 TDs, have right at it.

At this point in Saban’s career, he has nothing left to prove except riding it out until he feels the need to retire.

All solid points

UT fans should care what Nick Saban thinks why again?

Probably because he is one of the best college coaches to ever lead a team, and that team has been a pillar of success that is almost unprecedented in the history of college football. I'm not saying that everything Nick Saban says about college football is gospel, but when he speaks we should be smart enough to listen. If we don't listen to his words, then who should we listen to?

Saban is surprised there were so few students at the game, and the ones in attendance aren’t cheering for the team like they used to. It’s because they’re spoiled obviously.

We don’t have that problem despite the turd sandwich we’ve been served for a decade. Our fans show up for games. That will eventually change if we don’t get out of this hole.

Equating his rant to “fans shouldn’t be critical” is a giant leap.

As the years pass and we get farther from relevancy, I wonder if Tennessee football collapses. In some ways most of us are holding on to the "glory days." How long will we be able to hold on without success?

Will our kids give a rip about a team that has not won anything in forever? Let's be honest, the only "fans" we have no are due to family ties, no one is jumping on the "bandwagon" of our dysfunction.

Personally, I will be a Tennessee Fan until I am no more. If Tennessee's decade of dysfunction leads to decades, then I may be no more sooner than later. I am not sure anyone will be around to care about Tennessee Football anymore..

About things on the field, sure but about attendance at a blowout game? Nope, not buying it

Just spitballing here, but maybe if they and all the other p5 schools schedule real games that actually have the potential for excitement, this problem goes away.

Touche, but TBH I would be just fine with having his on field results and pack the stadium for big games and worry about attendance for smaller game as an afterthought. That's just my opinion though.

Whole different thread, but, let's just have P5 teams play in their own division. Realign all the conferences, because there are some P5 schools that are not close to as good as some non-P5 schools.

Lets just find out how Bama and now UGA are paying these players and do the same :D

At that time, a spoiled fan base meltdown will occur. It’ll be beautiful.

This will be a day like no other, hoping for sooner rather than later.

Our dang local Kroger (Murfreesboro) has a whole wall of Bama clothes and a small bit of Blackman clothes. No UT around, no-sir-ree. Makes me want to puke every time I wall in.

I have so many friends who are ROLL TIDER's. I hardly speak to them during college football season. Good grief.

Check out what the demigod, Nick Saban, had to say, even with all their sucess

[

Saban is notorious for finding something to b1tch about that takes the focus off his team steam rolling everybody.

Not much to see here.
