For the love of the God Vol fans....

I lived in West Virginia so I pay close attention to the Mountaneers. I like them and Tennessee. 1a) Tennessee 1b)WVU. I remember Rich Rod leaving WVU high and dry for Michigan and they were in a tight spot leaving them with an intern coach Bill Stewart. After he SLAUGHTERED Oklahoma in the BCS bowl they named him head coach. After three years they fired him and hired Holgerson and the rest is history. The reason I mention this is because he took over WVU in a desperate time much like Dooley did us. And while Stewart kept them afloat, it was GLARINGLY OBVIOUS that the job he was doing wasn't up to WVU standards. He was a great man much like Dooley, but an average coach much like Dooley. If WVU would have kept him much longer it would have set them back for years. Now is the time. After this year the recruits and parents will see right thru what Dooley's selling. Dooley has done a fine job of rebuilding a solid foundation, I swear he has. But that won't last. See, firing him wont set the program back...not firing him will. He's a stop gap coach. Now it's time to get a proven winner to build on the foundation Dooley has laid. His ceiling has been reach. If being a good guy is what it took to be a good coach then Nick Saban would be a failure. There's NOTHING in Dooley's history that points towards him being a good coach, nothing.

Very well said.

There are TONS of coaches out there who are better coaches than Dooley for starters. This isn't the job it was when he took over, there are guys who will come here. The obvious being Coaches at Boise, TCU, and Michigan State. I could go on and on. But really it's a moot point as long as Dooley is here. There are a lot of guys out there who would LOVE to get a shot at The University of Tennessee, don't kid yourself.

If Gruden takes this job, I just wanna see Gruden vs Saban rivalry. Will be the rivalry of the south!!!!

Look man I'm not trying to argue with you, but just support Dooley until he gets fired. No need to bash the coaches and the recruits that he gets. It makes you sound like the Da'Rick Rogers of VolNation. I'm trying to be the bigger man right now.

I've never bashed a player...EVER...Get your facts straight before pointing fingers at people and learn to read what they say the RIGHT way instead of making up your own story...Stop acting like a child and begging for people to support Dooley when it clear they do not...You are not going to change their minds or mine..We have our own opinions...I will not support Derek Dooley until he proves he is worthy of the job at Tennessee...I have supported Tennessee for over 40 years and my family has supported them for much longer than that and to this day still have season tickets and donates every single year...I support Tennessee...Not Derek Dooley...Period

That would be my top choice. You have to be careful offering too many coaches and getting turned down or we'll end up with....another Dooley. But Gruden is one of the few dudes that IF turned down by I don't think would hurt much with other coaches offered. But if you offer college guys and get turned down the next guy will look at you like you're crazy when you come knocking. If we swing we have to connect. But at this moment we still have Dooley so it's all irrelevant.

We just want to see that the process is working, to have a defined goal and god forbid reach it. I have supported DD, but i'm having serious doubts that he can get it done here.

IMO he's in way over his head.

So you supported him....but are currently having serious doubts....and in your opinion, he's in way over his head...

Well, I guess that opinion might create some serious doubts...

If I go to the steakhouse and they bring out a shiddy steak every time I go...I'm gonna stop going. That's where I stand with Tennessee football at this moment.

2 examples of how HC's can have all the tools present on their rosters to have winning teams but not be able to put it all together on the field....Shula/Saban at Bama....Zook/Meyer at Florida. Us Nega-Vols as you call us can see the talent is here now....they just need an experienced proven HC to put it all together for us now.

Why is it negative to want the AD to try to get a proven winner here and make this a successful program like it should be?

Did you ever stop and think maybe the fact that you don't demand a proven winner here as HC makes you the Nega-Vol?

JMO.

Good point and I might just cross over if you can help me with one little issue...

Can you tell me the years that Shula/Saban and Zook/Myer had back to back BUST recruiting classes like Vols did in 2008 and 2009?

Ok yeah but people are starting threads crying this week even......... and it's a bye week.

OP speaks the truth.

These punks even started two thread about bye weeks winning games. That is pathetic. Truly. If a few bad seasons stole your "manhood" hen you didn't have much to begin with. Disgraceful sorry bunch of ........

Until the AD chooses to make a change, Dooley is UT football. How do you think players react when they see a "UT fan" bashing our coach for recruiting them because they're 3 star player? The point is that by bashing our coach you are undermining the future of the program.

That's why we are where we are. Fulmer believed this, and lost his motivation to recruit and coach. Anyone who truly believes this, isn't a blind homer, they are part of the problem.

I'm tired of opening thread after thread and seeing all this crying and wining about stupid stuff. I swear you nega-vols come up with new stuff every week. How do you go from the "team giving up" to "Chaney's play calling" to "Sal doesn't know what he is doing when calling plays." You guys make this situation a lot worse than it really is. Yes we know Dooley doesn't have a winning record at UT.(Nega-Vols post this numerous times) I'm sorry Dooley can't beat an upper tier SEC team with a rebuilding SEC team. Dooley still needs time. We barely have any seniors from the Kiffin/Fulmer garbage that they brought in. Our first full class of seniors will graduate next year. Dooley knows what he is doing and Hart knows what he is doing by keeping him around. We are on the rise guys. It will take a lot of pain but we are going to do it I promise.
Dooley knows what he is doing 6 and 6 or 7 and 5 and the OUT HOUSE BOWL if we are lucky.

Negavols make the situation worse? Which games did negavols cost us? Really hard to say. Wonder how many top recruits have passed on UT after opposing coaches showed them a few snippits from volnation? Hell, I bet they have VN on their favorites list! Negavols speculate daily on who our next HC will be and then are befuddled on why we are not attracting top players that will help us win games. All those losses may have turned out diffrently if only the negavols had shown a bit of restraint. Stupid, self-destructive behavior.

102,000 seats with an average of only 75000 seats full X $45.00 average ticket price X 5 home games (as an example) = $6,075,000 lost in just empty seats not including money lost in concession sales and merchandise sales. Not to mention how that many less people affect the economy of Knoxville this time of year.

Do you see the severity and loss of money by putting an average product on the field?

These math/$$$ threads confuse me...

Where do you get an average of 75,00 attendance? We have averaged over 90,000 this year (including awful rainy weather for GA State). We averaged just under 95,000 last year.

:dunno:
