I agree with most of what you said, but I take exception with the "people who LOVE this school" part. It is not the 1980s anymore. Majors started as HC at Tennessee 43 years ago. Saban did not "LOVE" Alabama. Mullen didn't "LOVE" Florida. He played his college days at Ursinus College for crying out loud. Heck, even Pete Carroll was literally the Jeremy Pruitt of coaching hires at USC....On his word, LSU was the program for which he always wanted to coach.

I'm great with finding someone with the capacity to love Tennessee, but thinking that we need to find someone who bleeds orange before the ink dries on the check... well, that's just code for "I don't want to win at football."

Hire the best. Don't go down to Stokely (hahahaaa time machine) and hire the best-dressed lurker.

Last time I checked Herman wasn’t the coach of Texas when that occurred. QB controversies happen all the time.

It’s not a good idea to start rumors or to promote rumors. The timing suggests none of this is connected to Brumbaugh. I’ve seen nothing about coaches not getting along but that’s very common when teams are losing. Wondering who wants out sounds like wasted energy. We don’t know that anyone was upset or wanted our.

There are a lot of great coaches who just have not been in the right place to realize their full potential. There are probably some guys out there who would be great at UTK despite having been mediocre elsewhere. if we go that route, this key is going to be keeping them on short leashes without crippling buyouts.

Way I see it, the only thing that really needs to be investigated is How the Hell this program sucks so much.

Yep I agree. Shawn Elliot at Ga.St. Is a hell of a good coach. He makes about 750 grand per year. He’s one I’d be willing to take a chance on.

My anonymous sources tell me that Fulmer arranged the improper benefits and that David Keith and Lee Greenwood were the bag men.
Also heard that Lee Corso will be our next coach. Don’t doubt me. I heard this in the clubhouse at Whittle Springs golf course where the big dollar donors were playing rook.

I don't see Wes starting or promoting rumors though and I've seen it mentioned several times that some coaches are wanting out. I do agree it's not healthy but we all know how adults can act sometimes if they don't like something.

Now there's a name I haven't heard in a while. Cool story I met him once at the Nashville airport in the bar, he asked who my team was and I said the Vols, he said of course we had a good laugh and he bought me a beer, cool guy
