Football at Bristol "terrible idea"

So......his only reason is bc the worst seat in the house is far away?? Wow. I'm just amazed at the lack of effort on his part to write an article.

If every snap a player puts their work on film, this guy just dropped a deuce for his whole industry to witness.

I know that I'm just contributing on the negative parade, but so many people that have never been there are really going to be pissed. There needs to be some logical discussion.

I have been fortunate enough to be able to attend multiple races there and to say that people are going to be surprised is putting it mildly. Yes, you can see crew members doing their work, but you can't tell who in the world they are if you're sitting on the other side of the track. You can just see colors on the uniforms.
I think there will be so many people to walk away from that game saying "never again." Also, once the reviews come back I don't think they will be able to sell it out again unless there is a Championship Game held there or two COMPLETELY different opponents with national followings. That's a maybe. I think this will likely be a one time thing.
There will be so many people to sit in their seats, look out, and just go "what the...?"..

That's not mentioning how the sound will be weird. It could actually be a bad atmosphere as far as crowd reaction and things like that. The crowd reactions could be delayed based on them trying to see the plays and then the sound also has to travel to your point of view.

It will be awesome to watch it on TV, and if you're there, to sit back and just take in the whole spectacle. Overhead shots will be awesome too, but once the game gets started it will definitely get interesting for the people there. You can say you were there though.

Traffic will be horrible too. There won't be nearly as many people that will be camping out compared to a NASCAR event. A lot of people will be driving in and out on the same day. Especially when compared to a NASCAR race.

Actually having grown up there AND having attended countless races I had been thinking the same way... it'd really be hard not to. I'll be in the suites which will be further away BUT... I'll be eating everything and drinking everything... be in and out of the suites and up and down close and catching it all. One of my 2 brothers went on the field the other day and said that before, he was thinking the same way as all naysayers but said... "No, it's gonna be good..."
Either way, if the Vols lose then it'll suck and if they win... I'll watch the replays over and over ...Sunday, Tuesday, next week and years later when I have grandkids and say...
"I was at that m-----f-----!!!"

But that again is ones mans opinion. No one really knows what each individual is going to experience so to say that 85% of the people are going to be pssed is ludicrous. I too have been going to the races there for years. I still am a race season ticket holder traveling from Florida and wouldnt miss this for anything and believe I will be able to see, hear and experience everything I expect. To each his own but agree this will likely be a one and done.

This was a very good and reasonable post. When expressing opinions on message boards such as this, many times posters come across as acting like their opinion must be the best option and that because they don't believe they would have a good time means nobody would either. I am going to attend and will post pics, not just of the action on the field but of my experience tailgating and the overall scenery of this unique event itself. It's so unique, that I can't even say for sure that I will completely enjoy it but I don't think I will regret going.

As a Vol fan, definitely a hard thing to adjust to will be the lack of sound we are accustomed to at Neyland. Even in the upper deck, we can hear the pads popping, the ball being kicked and the obnoxious male cheerleader on the bullhorn. There will none of that at BMS. This works only as a one time event but I think most people will come away from it glad that they went.

In spite of what some want to think and having been there, I really don't believe it should be that bad at all for about 75% of the people in attendance.
having been raised in bristol, the biggest problem may be the view if you are up high in the terraces. you may want to take binoculars but remember they have a huge 4-sided giant tv screen there now. i'm camping for 3 days and there are no designated areas for either UT or VT fans that i know of so we'll be tossed into a pile. kind of odd in likker making country when you usually have fans that have 40 separate drivers to root for. now that's reduced to 2 teams so i hope we can behave ourselves. weather is looking good and should be a great match-up. GBO:rock:

I realize that Tennessee and VT will stuff the coffers with $ million. Being diabetic and not being able to bring approbate food and drink into the seating area, Having to eat fast food, my blood sugar would soar. Just can't take the risk. However, I will enjoy watching the the game on the big screen and having appropriate food and drink.

Traffic to and from the speedway will be horrific.

My dad and brother are diabetic and go to games all the time. There are always low sugar choices for sale at certain vendors. What a horsecrap excuse for griping.
