No, but explain to me why there hasn't been at least ONE win in 11 years? History plays a huge part in this sport. If it didn't then there would be no talk of rivalries.
I agree. There certainly is a mental aspect to it. I'm sure we've went into the last couple of years thinking we were the better team...
Did you watch the NFL draft last week?
7 gators drafted compared to 0 Vols. Last year wasn't any better. 8 gators drafted in 2015 to 0 Vols.
So in the last 2 years, Florida has had 15 players drafted while we've had ZERO. Its actually amazing that the games have been so close. You would think with so much better upperclass talent, that the margin of victory for Florida the last 2 years wouldn't be a total of 2 points.
And the last 2 years haven't been an aberration. Florida has consistently recruited better than us for most of the last 11 years. And they've put more players into the NFL.
Kind of hard to beat a team if they consistently field the better players.
Or it could be the fact Florida has had 15 players drafted the last 2 years while we've had ZERO.
Its kind of hard to say we're the better team if Florida has way more players getting drafted each year.
So. We've beaten Georgia and they've had players drafted. We had Florida beat the last two years, only to collapse at the end. You don't think psyche has something to do with it?
It could simply be that Georgia are the chockers not us?
Just because we've managed to surprise a Georgia team that always underachieves doesn't mean you should expect the same of Florida.
I mean we've also lost 9 straight to Alabama. Is there a psyche issue there as well? Or have they been obliterating us by such huge margins the last 9 years that you can't play the psyche card?

You keep using this statistic as your ONLY argument. How do you explain 2007? Or any other year when the talent was equal. How do you explain teams like Ole Miss or Texas A&M beating Bama with inferior teams? That's right, I thought so...

The difference in frustration for me personally between Florida and Bama is that Bama has been consistently good beating good teams and competing for championships during much of the past few seasons. Florida on the other hand has beaten us and then collapsed as the season has progressed. Florida is more beatable more consistently than Bama right now
Alabama plays 12 regular season games each year. They go into each game with typically a large talent advantage. They typically lose only one game a year (and usually in a flukey way...remember all those turnovers against Ole Miss). 11-1 is a typical Alabama regular season.
So we've lost to Florida 11 straight games. Most have been blowouts. And a few have been close and could have gone either way. If you think of our 11 year streak as an Alabama season then it isn't that surprising we've lost that many games to Florida.
Usually it takes luck and many shots to beat a more talented team. Against Alabama the less talented team succeeds typically 1 out of every 12 times. I don't know why 0 of 11 shocks you?
It still doesn't change the fact they're more talented. You can be mad but facts are facts. They've consistently fielded teams with much better players.
What your complaining about basically boils down to why hasn't Florida overlooked us? Typically inferior teams win when the more talented team doesn't take them seriously.
For some reason Florida likes beating Tennessee when we're down. Georgia seems to not care as much.
Obviously we were the better team 2 yrs ago. That one rest on Butch, imo.
So, with your theory, UGA had 5 drafted this year and Vandy had 1 player...does that make them better?
Chokers? So did we not choke the past two years? You can't try and convince me that, in the back of the coaches minds, players, staff, etc. when the game is on the line and we have a lead or close to the lead they are trying their hardest not to lose ANOTHER year?
You don't think the players have articles posted up on the wall as motivation from previous years to go out and win? I bet they do. That, my friend, is including the history of previous years, whether it's a good thing or not.
1 player drafted in the late rounds vs. 0 isn't a statistically significant margin but 5 to 0 is. So yes, Georgia's upperclassmen were definitely more talented than ours.
Our young talent however was able to overcome that. The game being at home also helped.
We also came close to beating Florida so the results of the two games are not that dissimilar.
This has got to be one of the single most ridiculous things you have ever said on here. How you equate a single bama season to over an entire decade of losses to florida is garbage, and you and I both know it.
I don't think they give a sh#t. You do know most of the players didn't grow up Vols fans. Most of our best players aren't even from Tennessee. I'm sure the last 11 years don't mean anything to them.
The last 2 years? Hell yea those matter.
The guys are definitely motivated to right the wrong of the last 2 years. I just don't think they care about 2004-2013. Almost none of our players who will play in 2016 played against Florida in 2013 or earlier.
Yes they are. One is a win, the other a loss.
