If so, the owners of the bars should be tarred and feathered, so should people on the strip who walk past it all and don't piss on it or tear it down.

Have several friends I grew up with in FL who are UF Kappa Sig's and they've got the Roaming Gnome for Friday night from 11-3 so wouldn't surprise me.

Actually you can reserve/rent out a bar. Fraternities do it all the time for band parties and such and yes you will be turned away if you're not on the list. Think about it, if I spent lots of money to rent something for my friends and me why would I let someone else in who doesn't have to pay and especially someone from the opposing side? Sounds kinda like the opposition to welfare. By the way, most of these reservations are for Friday night not Saturday, so many seemed to be confused on that aspect of all this.

Exactly, I highly doubt that any bar is going to let itself get rented out on Gameday. Plus, once we beat the crap out of Florida this weekend, I'd say they wont feel like partying too much.

Really?? I went with a couple UF guys that had graduated in 02, said it was their frat's party, got us all in free, skipped the line, and it was like a freaking homecoming for them, all gators, everywhere. Either way, it was as bad as it sounds.

I was once a frat kid and we couldn't come up with enough money to rent a table at chucky cheeze! Lol...must be nice to travel hundreds of miles to blow daddy's money! They can have the crappy bars...we still have our great TN tailgating around the stadium!

When I was at the game last weekend I was SHOCKED to see vols hanging out a Bar Knoxville...after what went down a few months ago. The place was packed. I was a little disappointed.

A friend is trying to sell me two tix to tomorrow's game: Section PP, Row 14. Are these good? I typically sit lower at the games, but I'd love to be there. Also are there handrails in the upper level?

No I didn't call and check, no need to. When I was a student at UT, if a bar was rented out there was a guest list and those not on it didn't get in, unless you knew someone. The bars pretty much leave the who comes in stuff up to those renting it out. My fraternity did the same thing on numerous occasions. As far as my UF friends, they have a guest list and I can imagine it will be limited to them, their guests and UT Kappa Sigs.

Ok, I accept your experience and explaination. My experience was different. You couldn't rent out a bar because, well, we were probably already there and they didn't know if we would be leaving, except during actual game time of course. My fraternity held our band parties in the basement in our house on Terrace Ave, which is one of the reasons why they kicked us off and made the house into a parking lot. The Frats on Greek Row held their band parties either at their houses or in one of their brother's houses off campus. Things may have been different then. I can remember we were disappointed when the list of party schools came out one year and we weren't on it. Our disappointment disappeared when we noticed the footnote that said UT Knoxville wasn't considered for the list because it was a list of amatures and we were considered to be a professional party school!

Anyway, my real point was these reports are often wrong and we tend to over react to rumors. Enjoy the game!

jorts are now on all dress codes on the strip. so are visors, crocs, camouflage hats and pink polos. no gators will be allowed in.

Dude I hate florida and pretty much every other SEC team with the exception of Vandy and Ole Miss (family ties don't judge me). But this would be seriously epic! Even if they just rented out say Bar Knox and totally Florida'd it out... I hate him but i would have to giggle a little if I saw this.
Funny story I was at the Mouse's Ear and actually knew one of the girls (again don't judge me) and she sat down and talked to me for a little while and said that the florida fans always come in there and are the best tippers... also said UT fans are the worst tippers... then I told to her to shut her mouth and walk away from me. I didn't tip her so maybe there is some truth to her story.

I wish we could get a camera feed from gate security to see how many Jort Sports walk into the stadium tomorrow night, that would be epic.
