A guy in my calculus class just told me Florida's fraternities rented out every bar/open building on the strip on monday. He said they had this planned and got to them before us and they hung up UF banners everywhere.
I told him don't believe everything you hear, cause I don't think that's true, but he seemed to be pretty sure of this.
Not true, is it?
If so, the owners of the bars should be tarred and feathered, so should people on the strip who walk past it all and don't piss on it or tear it down.
So once again we see the over reaction that happens on VN. Has anyone been turned away from any place on the strip? Has anyone called to make a reservation and been denied? You can't reserve a bar anyway! Just go out and have fun before the game and I bet you'll be able to get in to anyplace you want.![]()
I can't tell you how heartbroken I am that I can't go in Bar Knox or Hannah's this weekend.
Seems to me that unless they are willing to pay a pretty steep rental fee that these bar owners are making a pretty bad business decision.
Actually you can reserve/rent out a bar. Fraternities do it all the time for band parties and such and yes you will be turned away if you're not on the list. Think about it, if I spent lots of money to rent something for my friends and me why would I let someone else in who doesn't have to pay and especially someone from the opposing side? Sounds kinda like the opposition to welfare. By the way, most of these reservations are for Friday night not Saturday, so many seemed to be confused on that aspect of all this.
Really?? I went with a couple UF guys that had graduated in 02, said it was their frat's party, got us all in free, skipped the line, and it was like a freaking homecoming for them, all gators, everywhere. Either way, it was as bad as it sounds.Actually that was a UT fraternity
This is what I think of Florida. I was on my way down to Port Canaveral this summer for a cruise w/my wife, who happens to be a UGA fan, and we stopped in Gay-nessville just so I could do this. I effin' hate you guys and hope Johnny Brantley breaks his femur. :finger3::finger3::finger3::finger3::finger3:

So you called and checked?
Why would you want in??? But maybe if you bust out the jorts

No I didn't call and check, no need to. When I was a student at UT, if a bar was rented out there was a guest list and those not on it didn't get in, unless you knew someone. The bars pretty much leave the who comes in stuff up to those renting it out. My fraternity did the same thing on numerous occasions. As far as my UF friends, they have a guest list and I can imagine it will be limited to them, their guests and UT Kappa Sigs.
Dude I hate florida and pretty much every other SEC team with the exception of Vandy and Ole Miss (family ties don't judge me). But this would be seriously epic! Even if they just rented out say Bar Knox and totally Florida'd it out... I hate him but i would have to giggle a little if I saw this.
Funny story I was at the Mouse's Ear and actually knew one of the girls (again don't judge me) and she sat down and talked to me for a little while and said that the florida fans always come in there and are the best tippers... also said UT fans are the worst tippers... then I told to her to shut her mouth and walk away from me. I didn't tip her so maybe there is some truth to her story.
