Florida better than expected?

I think everyone is over reacting to Napier and Florida. Utah is on par with middle of the pack SEC. they aren’t #7 in nation worthy in the first place. Florida won despite Napier. Utah had self inflicted mistakes at the goaline twice that cost them. I’m looking at Florida getting ran over for 200 plus rushing yards and one receiver eating them alive. Napier is a terrible game manager. For example, running the play clock down to zero and calling a timeout to talk about a 4th down with 2:30 to go. He was bailed out by Richardson the whole game. I saw nothing schemed by Napier that worries me.
Yes I’ve been pointing this out for a long time about BN’s game management, ie Rommel and Cornbread-esque. Richardson singlehandedly saved his rear!

We can speculate all we want, but florida gave up 200+ yards rushing and had little answers to Utah's TEs and receiver. Utah should have done a QB sneak at the 6 inch line but decided to hand off to rb against a stacked box where he fumbled it. Utah had plenty of time to punch the ball in at the end but again called the wrong plays. That should have been a 13 pt loss by Florida. So the Gators squeek out a win at home against the overrated #7 team in the country and now the world believes Napier is the 2nd coming and they are playoff bound.
I have confidence our coach will be able scheme the crap out of that defense!!!! On D key AR and force him left and swamp lizards will look much worse!

I see where Jaws liked your post. Tell me what makes a Florida fan come directly to a Vol site immediately after their game?

Never will understand coming to a rival fan's site..
Bc VN is the best there is according to multiple posters both Vol and non Vol fans. You can get more information here not just about Vol football but all SEC football for free than any other sports site in existence and I just about guarantee that. That’s why they come around and I’ve said before jaws and the lawgTor are welcome here and some of the better posters on the board, even though they are filthy gators, but that’s all part of it. They take their hits often but usually always keep it respectful and keep the conversations moving forward.

If Florida Wins next week and we pull of the win we should both be ranked inside top 15 when we meet. They may be better than people were predicting.
They are. I had us going 7-5 because of that. They are shoveling the sh** talk right back into people's faces.

They got extremely lucky tonight. They are not that good.
Yep the intended receiver on Utah's last offensive play was thrown to the ground just prior to the pass arriving. I can't believe PI wasn't called just like Utah's receiver and QB. That was more than incidental contact, imo. Dat sh*t happens in Neyland on a Sat. night and on a game winning drive all hell likely to break loose. GBO !!!

Dooley, Lyle, and Cornbread are gone. We actually got a coach now. We have the talent and we have the coach. No reason why we should drop either of these games. Injuries and turnovers will be the only reasons we loose.

I agree with your post, but substitute the word "lose" for "loose".:)

I hate gators,. But their offense will have a feast on our defense. All the idiots saying we are a lot better than them don't know football!

I guess I am one of those idiots. But if Utah had not thrown an interception at the end of the game, would there be all this consternation? I thought Utah handled Florida's front 7 quite easily, while Florida was truly a one horse pony on offense.

Florida will always have talent, but I don't see the dynamic playmakers around Richardson, on offense or defense, to fuel all this fear. I will never believe Florida will be a cake walk, but I am not afraid of them.

Go hide in your closet, I will have my money on Tennessee and in my seats in two weeks.

Utah never stretched the defense..relied on tight end all night. They pounded Florida and made too many mistakes..fumbled on goal line…end zone int. Wasn’t impressed with team speed of Utah . They dropped an int …Pac-thetic 12 got drug yesterday

Florida had the home field advantage and Utah didn’t have the athletes to keep up with Florida. The Utah quarterback just threw a bad ball on the last play. I think Tennessee has the athletes to compete with Florida and our offense will wear them down if they don’t start faking injuries. Billy Napier turned down his home state school twice so screw him and his sellout Saban loving a*s!
You say Utah didn’t have the athletes to keep up but they were 5 yards away from winning and should have won the game so I wouldn’t say that’s accurate.

Floridas lines ( both of them) looked dominant whereas ours ( neither of them) looked particularly powerful. This to me is why I fear we are still not ready to take that step as a major threat in the east
😂 We ran for damn near 200 yards with a vanilla offense. We could’ve basically ran for as many as we wanted on the ground. Florida looked good, they were in a game where they had to play physical.

FL gave up over 200 yards on the ground. Some of our fans need to quit the BS

My eyes tell me Pitt is better on both LOS and UF fielded a team with some athletes...especially at QB so that automatically gives them the advantage and an almost certain win over us until UT stops crapping the bed in that game. I've stated elsewhere that our OL hasn't impressed in the running game which makes me question how well we can run against teams like UF and Pitt when we need to? Maybe it's the old man in me but I don't like our "physicality" or at least what I've seen of it so far. At Pitt and anywhere vs UF...I don't like our prospects against either.
both games likely to be high-scoring shoot-outs

Utah had a really good QB but FL D was not overly impressive. Will all come down to how good our D is at stopping Richardson. He is dangerous once he gets past the line of scrimmage, no doubt.

Florida made a nice play on Utah’s last drive - otherwise they lose the game outright or it probably goes to OT. Now I didn’t see the game but watched the highlights - and Florida looks good BUT I think we have a good chance to win. It’s definitely going to show what this coaching staff is made of.

the Gators are always going to have talent. How good or bad they are always comes down to what their staff can do with them... they have players..

I agree.

Ever since Spurrier arrived, they have had sufficient players with physical size and ability. I will believe Florida is a bottom tier team when I see it more than once in 10 years.

I didn't see enough of yesterday's game to pass complete judgement, but I expect we will have to bring our A game to have a good chance of winning. We here these ideas that we are going to kill them, every year. So yes, I think we can beat them, but no, I don't think they will be a pushover. It should be a good game.
