My one and only game at Neyland was the 09 South Carolina black jersey game. Rained almost the entire game but i loved every minute of it.

My first visit to Neyland was May 28, 1970.
Billy Graham Crusade
President Richard Nixon was special guest speaker.
I was a pre-teen and we had to climb the fence to get in......no joke.

Mine was 1977, Vols beat Tiger High in the rain. Jimmy Streater, the Silva Streak, was the quarterback. I was hooked, enrolled Fall quarter of 1978.
This is a pretty enjoyable thread. Brought back some memories, some bad, some great. Props to op

Mine was 66 or 67, Dad took us 3 boys to 2 JV games, Army and Notre Dame. I can't remember which of those happened first but both were awesome experiences.

1979 orange and white game first trip to Neyland. Then September 22 game against Utah. From that point to 2000 season I missed one home game. Alabama game in 96 we were having our first baby.

1998 Florida, Sec F, row 20 (was a freshman). It was a crazy introduction, but looking back on it I didn’t fully appreciate the significance of what I was seeing.

2006 versus Marshall. Came a complete downpour. Had to take shoes and socks off when we got to the car. Vols still put up 33 points in the mess though. Friend that attended games regularly said it was the worst game he’d been to, but it was the best time I’d ever had.

My Freshman year at UT, 1974 UCLA (17-17 Tie)

(Was a Vol from birth - that's just how it was in East Tennessee)

I was born a Vol but didn't attend a game until 2002 when I was 15. We played Rutgers and looked like total crap. They ran the opening kickoff back for a TD and we trailed 14-7 at the half before waking up.

You guys are such young pups. I cant remember the exact year but it was late 50's. and I was 8 or 9 years old. All I can remember is guys in overcoats and hats standing up so I could not see a thing. Saw all home games from 68-72 and at least I game a year for the next 30 or so years.
We may be about the same age. But my first was 1965 - the Houston game on the Saturday after three coaches were killed when a train hit their car. I sometimes wonder had Bill Majors survived, would he have stepped in instead of Bill Battle.
