It's fine. You can install it and still use IE some if you choose. Or just uninstall it if you don't like it. It will not interfere with anything. Just download it and click to install. Trust me, the tabbed browsing is great. I will never use IE.
I've only seen a few videos, things in Java, etc. that Firefox isn't compatible with. But the plusses that Firefox has over IE make it so you barely even notice what few negatives there are.
You guys haven't even mentioned the far more secure browsing of Firefox. I'm almost afraid to run IE, not knowing what security holes may yet be unpatched. It seems that the open source community is FAR better in finding and filling these holes than the giant Microsoft.
