Maybe Alontae Taylor would not have blown it in regulation if Pruitt had sent the house on the third down. We continue to rush three late in the game we continue to give up last-second miracles. See Georgia and Florida (twice). Put pressure on the QB where he doesn't have time to get off a long pass. Playing prevent has beaten so many times in the past. Why can't any of these new coaches learn that.

In fairness Pruitt not responsible for those games and don't forget we actually won that Ga game

Why did Taylor blow it ? Because the d—n coaches did not emphasize enough you do not let someone get behind you when they are driving at the end of the game. If Vols only win one or two games this year which is highly likely, Pruitt will not survive until year 3 regardless of his buyout.
If you are playing SEC ball you should know this before you step foot on campus....

Therr is simply no excuse for Tennessee to lose by 33 points to Missouri at home and 25 points to Vandy on the road to close the season.

There is also no excuse to lose to a Sunbelt team that finished 2-10 last season and that barely managed to beat FCS Furman last night. And no excuse to lose to a Kalani Sitake coached BYU team at home. This BYU team is nowhere even close to what they were in Lavell Edwards days.

We've gotten worse since we beat Kentucky last season. This is on the head coach. Coaches like Richt, Smart, Stoops and Riley would not let pitiful play like this happen. So yes. That is a fair comparison.

I don't think you can chalk it all up to a busted coverage.

BYU crammed it down our neck two straight drives in OT as well, not just passing but running as well. Same story as Georgia State, physically dominated at the end.

This does not say much for the strength and conditioning of the team, which is basically directly attributable to the head coach.

Butch lost to those two teams by the same amount. The only thing that is the same is the players and QB.

If we had a competent QB would be 2 and 0. The terrible play of JG drive killing decisions and awful judgement can't see the field QB really needs to take a seat even if we never win a game this season. To bad the QB from Maryland is not eligible he could step in right now.

This loss is on the defense on the last series of regulation. Taylor takes the hit on this one. Pruitt can't make the plays.... and apparently neither can Taylor
If JG could pass to open receivers and we had a red zone offense the defense could have cruised.

Ga State and BYU...and we havent even played our 2nd stringers...think about that.

Butch wasn't the coach for those best downs...remember? He was fired before them and many on here rejoiced because they were terrified he would win enough to make a bowl game and keep his job.

Bowl games are something this current staff isnt likely to see anytime soon.

Run game was better than recent memory. By far.

Defense gave up 1 TD in regulation.

I saw a loss, but not regression.

Also, not at end of year 3.

When you go 5-7 in year one, beat two ranked team (one on the road),and then lose your first two non conference games at home to open season 2.......that’s regression
