If not going well is three straight Elite 8s, sign me up!! 🙂 Totally different situations, but I would love that level of “failure” at the moment after Kim’s 16-14 system and losing her entire roster.

Kara loved Tennessee so much that she stuck her neck out and told a painful truth. Lawson loved Tennessee too much, and look at what it got her. People like you getting it 100% wrong.

Was speaking of the one game lost by 33 . Which can happen on any given day against a quality opponent just as did South Carolina on the women's side. And sure would like to see the Lady VOLS get back there.

WHO is peddling all these unfounded rumors, and why?

If a head coach has built a relationship of trust with their team members,

I am not weighing in on if she’s a good coach or a bad coach, if her system works or doesn’t work, or if she should be fired or retained.

I just wanna mention that as I read all these threads on those topics I keep picturing the movie Moneyball with Brad Pitt. He was instituting a very unique analytical system that was unusual at the time. He could not get the coach that was a old school coach to get on board and play the players he wanted to play. He told him to play Scott Hattenburg at first base. The coach told him, “no, I am playing Carlos Peña,” and he also had Jeremy Giambi.

My favorite scene was when the Brad Pitt character told him to start Scott Attenberg tonight. The coach said, “no way, I’m starting Peña.”

Brad Pitt said, “you can’t do that,” and the coach said, “”really, why not!”

Brad Pitt had the greatest look and said, “because I just traded him and Giambi, he’ll be suiting up for someone else tonight.” I believe he got very little in return for the two players other than forcing the coach to institute his system.

Good movie. Great scene. But it kinda reinforces that sometimes you just gotta be all in.

I am not saying I agree or disagree with her system, I am just saying that sometimes you’re either have to be all in or not in at all, and these conversations all make me think of that movie Moneyball.

Who was missing out on said No diversity, IMO its the roundabout way of calling ppl racist, it was a well thought out softer talking point for agree to disagree discussions. To make ppl conclude what you did its not equal but it means what it means. I have no problem with Kara, I thought she was the best Basketball talking head when she had her stint, nobody as good as her now IMO.

You know the answer before you said it but Kara never used the word racist in her public statements. She did use diversity.

So, instead off screaming red faced "She called UT racist!!!" as though that is an unjustified and intolerable attack, we can calmly ask if UT administration had systematic policies or implicit biases that worked against the hiring of qualified black candidates to positions of power.

Then, the impetus falls on our fan of the 14th President (who enacted a slew of a pro-slavery policies by the way) to show where Kara was falsely accusing UT. By the way, the President of the UT system and then UTAD Phil Fulmer acknowledged that UT indeed did have a diversity problem. So, Franklin needs to fight with those folks too.

The next Lady Vols head basketball coach will be black. UT wants to placate social justice worker, Kara Lawson, and her legion of Lady Vols basketball supporters who view her as the savior of the program.
