Fire Kim Caldwell

What cover up would that be? They don’t need a reason to fire anyone.
As I said last week, there are serious concerns about how UTAD has handled the narrative around former coaches and the player exodus.

The more that comes out, the more it raises questions about whether efforts were made to shift blame away from Kim rather than address what actually happened.

I’ve heard from multiple sources that mistakes were made—and that some of this wasn’t handled as carefully as it should have been.

If that’s true, the potential fallout could be significant. Once the full picture comes into focus, fans may see just how far things went behind the scenes to maintain the current direction of the program.

At that point, this situation could end up making the Fulmer exit look minor by comparison.

Begging your pardon, Madam/Sir, but that's far from true. Tell us, please, who, other than Geno, Dawn, Muffet and a very few others have been anywhere near consistent in getting to F4s. Had you said “round of 32” I might sit quietly in the corner.

WCBB is not competitive in the second round for the higher ranked teams.

I'm sure there may be outliers, but not much.

Give her a restart. This can be Year One. Being pregnant slowed her down and now she is experienced in the SEC. Remember she was at Glenville only a few months ago basically. Kim knows her system is unique and will require patience. Danny knows that too.
SHE HAS RUN OFF AN ENTIRE TEAM!!! INCLUDING her own recruits!!!! AND her coaches have bailed on her. My god what evidence do you need???????

This is why I will never understand dying on a hill for this coach, of all people

Truthfully she has run off the most unathletic, poorest shooting bunch that I have ever seen in all my years of watching the Lady Vols. She should have been way more hands on in recruiting instead of leaving it to assistants that did not recruit to fit her system. The pressure is fine but she needs to leave the groups on the floor for more minutes at a time. Pat made a living for several years with the 1-2-1-1 pressure and it will work with the right athletes but need to slow down on the hockey substitutions.

I could not agree more. CKC's style does not work in D1 women's basketball. There is too many talented teams. You put your best 5 players on the court and let them play. Then your top players are not going to want to sit every 3 or 4 minutes. Let them play. This hockey style line changes will not work.
Ya don’t say

Pat Summitt’s first two seasons as head coach of the Tennessee Lady Vols (1974–1976) resulted in a combined 32-19 record. She went 16–8 in her debut 1974-75 season and 16–11 in her second season (1975-76)

Caldwell's 1st 2 seasons:

24-10
16-14

Total

40-24

If it takes patience/time, maybe she shouldn’t run off the entire team every offseason?

As someone who has been comparatively supportive of CKC compared to the general fan base, mentioning her results in the same sentence as Pat Summitt’s is insulting. Pat started with about $12, a foundation, and a plan. Kim started with a mansion and the keys to the Bentley.

Catch all space for the fire at all costs posts.

While I don’t personally think firing Kim is the best move at this specific moment, I notice that occasionally other threads are getting derailed or stuck at the fire at all costs themes. Perhaps that needs a clearer place to land. This is that place.

If all such posts and comments can live here, it will allow the other threads to continue as spaces to discuss and debate other topics.
You’ve been posting on Volnation less than a week and are now attempting to direct the comments. Do you work for the University of Tennessee, or Volnation? Not asking how long you’ve been a fan.

Holly and Kellie drove this program off a cliff. It is in no way anything close to what Pat built when she left. Women's basketball is nothing like it was back then in general. CKC had a massive handicap by having to play with who the former coaches brought in.

If you could build a team after watching last season, would you pick a single player from that squad to start for you? A lot of that is on CKC too, but let's not act like she had a top10 roster when she got here.

Are Sweet sixteens off a cliff? Man, I guess Kim drove off the same cliff as Kellie then.

I can’t believe this is getting any likes. Patience? She literally lost EVERY player and her best signee. Patience requires some evidence of a foundation being built. The whole thing just got razed to the ground.

No one is acting like she had a top 10 roster when she got here. She did have a top 10 brand, a program you could pretty much pencil into the Sweet 16 and SEC tourney double bye, and top 10 resources, facilities, and fan base. Acting like she was thrownonto a burning boat and told to save it is disingenuous.

Do what? Jujuan Howard drove Michigan into the ditch winning 8 games his last year. One year later, S16. Two years later, championship game. Stop this narrative.
