Fire him yesterday, dont wait another minute.

+1

Everyday we just hurt ourselves going forward. Recruits question the direction of the program. The fans with any common sense see that he is a lost cause. Anyone who thinks going into 2013 with Dools has just adapted to the mindset that losing is not that bad any more. They have developed Vandy syndrome. Better to just take them out in the field and put them down.

On deciding whether to fire or keep dooley, ask yourself this. If Ala, Fla, Ga, USCe, or LSU had a head coaching opening now, would anyone of them consider dooley for the job? Enough said.

Excellent point! Also, KY, Arkansas, & Auburn will all be hiring new coaches after this season. Would any of those schools try to hire Dooley away from us? Of course not. That's how bad our situation is.

Can we have a option that says..

Depends on who they get to replace him?

If they just hire another first time HC, Then dooley needs to stay, he has shown progress no matter how hard some try to deny it.

If we can get gruden, I just do not see how you could pass up that hire. Unfortunately there are not many homeruns out there after that name.

Peterson? maybe, Dont know if it would be a smart move for him to try out the SEC.. it would be a gamble, but not a horrible one. He could surprise or he could fall flat on his face having to compete with the best every week.

There are so many variables that I just dont see how anyone could say Fire Dooley today outside of overly emotional responses that refuse to look at any type of logic or reason.

A winner is a winner. Peterson would be a grand slam imo.

Fire him ONLY if we can hire a slam dunk like Gruden, if not, give him another year to see if he can continue to improve our standing. Anyone who says we aren't making progress knows nothing about the game. Is Dooley THE guy, probably not, but he wins the games he's supposed to win and has us very competetive against the top teams. Another year of maturity and recruiting and we might take the next step, if not, can him!

This is the reason I wanted to make this poll. It would be nice if govolsxtra did a similar poll because it would attract more voters. If they did a poll that yielded these type of results then I could not see how Dooley could survive the year. I think Hart will really see this when the stadium is half full this Saturday (even though I'll be there).

Do you think VN posters are a fair representation of Vols fans in general?

I don't, most of the fans I talk to think he hasn't had enough time and feel we are improving. I would love to see the education level, real age and job experience of the posters as many act very juvinile and imature.

Pretty much agree with this. I am somewhere between "uncertain" and "keep him", depending on how the season plays out. If we really stink up these next few games, I might move into the "fire at end of season", and then I am like you - it better be a top notch replacement. If we win out, I can be patient another year, for sure. But next year we had better at least be in the mix for the SECC late in the season, or he can hit the road.

181 people want to keep Dooley? Unreal.
Loyalty is one thing, stupidity another.

Which brings me to my next point.

Don't smoke crack.

Young guys want to do everything too fast. Bachelor's U.T., age 63, 40 years working my own business. Keep him through next year. If it's better, keep him. If it's worse, let him go.
