Fire Dooley or Keep him (poll)

BTW, for me the biggest negaVols of all are the ones saying, 'We can't afford anyone else!' or 'We won't be able to hire a better coach!' Now that, boys and girls, is negative thinking.

What gets me are the ones who thinks Dooley is actually a good coach. Blows my mind. There is no proof that he is even a decent coach,

I say fire him now. As long as we have a replacement. If not, just keep him til the end of the season

It is very simple. If you do not care about ever winning over ala, fl, ga, lsu, sc, and are satisfied with only beating the small fish for an annual record of 7-5, keep dooley. If you like mediocrity, you got your man.

stay a little longer and see if he can get our defense straightened out.
We have come close to beating some very good teams.
Despite the mess he inherited, I can see progress.
Not where I want our program to be but, i`m wondering if we might make a mistake by not showing a little more patience and support.
I feel deep down that he is busting his butt trying to turn this program around.
Dooley is a class act IMHO.

What some of you people need to realize is that talent and schedule wise, this year is a high water mark for Dooley. It goes downhill from here.

On deciding whether to fire or keep dooley, ask yourself this. If Ala, Fla, Ga, USCe, or LSU had a head coaching opening now, would anyone of them consider dooley for the job? Enough said.

I say unless we get Chris Peterson or Gruden then keep him. I feel as thou he should get one recruiting class. He has been playing with other coaches players his whole career.

As my thread states, if Dooley was the ultimate decision maker in hiring and unproven DC that has cost us a minimum of 3 wins. Fire Dooley now! If not, fire whoever was responsible for bringing in Sal. Also, if Dooley doesn't make the D scheme calls or let Conklin do it. Fire him now as well!!!

If we can get a proven winner then fire him after Kentucky.

This team will implode without him right now. Look at ms st game. CDD missed lots of practice and coached from the box. The sideline was a mess.

If we can't get a winner then hang on to him until we can.

I feel like we can get a winner though.

In dooleys defense, if we had a defense, we would not be talking about this. However he gambled on sal and it may cost them both a job.

I also fault Dooley for not recruiting better in the secondary. He strengthened most if the roster but not there. Didn't we leave a couple slots open on this class?

So your saying those are the only 2 coaches that are better than Dooley ? Why keep him around just because of his recruiting class ? It's not going to change nothing.

Can we have a option that says..

Depends on who they get to replace him?

If they just hire another first time HC, Then dooley needs to stay, he has shown progress no matter how hard some try to deny it.

If we can get gruden, I just do not see how you could pass up that hire. Unfortunately there are not many homeruns out there after that name.

Peterson? maybe, Dont know if it would be a smart move for him to try out the SEC.. it would be a gamble, but not a horrible one. He could surprise or he could fall flat on his face having to compete with the best every week.

There are so many variables that I just dont see how anyone could say Fire Dooley today outside of overly emotional responses that refuse to look at any type of logic or reason.
