Yep, forget THIS season where it's looking like the coaching is horrible. It's gonna be "wait til next year" as long as Dooley is roaming the sidelines. There are posters on here saying that Dooley needs at least 5 years? Please, not at a university like this. Im not saying we should be undefeated and i know about the injuries, but there is no fight with this team at all. We are not the only team with injuries. He can't even get the team fired up after halftime and that shows since we haven't scored a single point in the second half in 7 GAMES.

Now what could he do to make them compete ...well alot I think .
The sprint draw system of running the ball. Straight outta the MAC. It has to go ...it just wont work in the SEC. Wasnt working with Bray and Hunter , wont work next year.
I see marked progress with the LBS ...which is what you would expect with young players and good coaches. Progress.
I do not see the secondary improving at all . Bad reactions , confusion , bad technique . 'No Progress' should show during Josephs quality control review.
The OC is expecting way too much from Worley ...things needs to be waaay simplified. He should never be put in 4 wide and asked to throw unless it is 3rd and long ( cause the defense knows a pass is coming !! ) And why place him in this set on 4th and 1 ? Offensive play calling is at times ...down right offensive
Where did Rivera disappear to last night ? He should be a major weapon for a young QB . The champion of dump offs .
Dont you love all those screen passes we are throwing ? wait a minute ...we're are not. Would seem like a tried a true idea for a young QB that does not have a running game. Did I mention how dumb it is to have a sprint draw system in the SEC ?

Tackles ?? Seems like that is not a talent or effort based skill. It is a technique and coaching hallmark. We dont do it well . It cant be put off to youth .

I am only in favor of keeping Dooley for 1 more year because he is a great recruiter and because he seems pretty smart . All of these obvious things I have noted should jump right out at him . For those that want to write everything off to youth , injury ...you are partially right. To not admit that the coaches could make this a better team is to bury your head in the sand.

I am not disagreeing with him needing to keep his job. I am just curious what makes us sure that smarter people are making hiring decisions?

I think 99% of the fanbase are on the fence about Dooley but think he deserves 3 years to turn the program around.
That said, I'm disappointed with what I've seen so far.
UT isn't really competitive but for about 2 quarters of a game before they get run out.

Yeah I know but there r a lot of people that just read threads for understanding and knowledge. So when a baseless comment is made it's just hard not to bring fact to it so we can try to put an end to the ignorance....dream world I know!

CDD know this season is over. He are trying to get all the freshman playing time. 2013 is the year he will make us or break us!!!

Right here Chumpy....I'm not a Dooley disciple but I do think he's working with very limited resources and that it is too soon to start calling for his firing. This is the youngest, thinnest and least talented team I can ever recall seeing at UT and it's not even close.

You would think he would be concentrated on winning as many games as possible. Is that not supposed to be the case? Also, 2013 is not the make or break year, that would be 2012.

Lack of talent and execution is a player fault. Even if we had Hunter and bray back we still would have lost badly to LSU BAMA UGA ARK cause he doesn't put his players in the right position for example why is D.Rogers constantly running deep routes he is better going across the middle and getting YAC. Why do we have a zone blocking scheme that doesn't work or why havent we started Neal out wide as a WR. Strategy and play calling is lacking it think DD is sending defensive coordinators text messages about the plays we are going to run. A good coach has his team ready to compete and play hard they dont even play with any emotion at all or heart. This is were coaching comes in they should have the ability to motivate.

Yeah they may seem poorly coached but hell with the said reasons what do you expect? Some people refuse to get it. I'm probably one of the few who will still support this team if they lose to Vandy and Kentucky. I fully believe next year is different.

FINALLY, someone with a brain!!!! ( Count, you are included, but I couldn't quote both of you.) Give Dooley 2 more years. There should be improvement next year, year 4 will be the judgement year. His first class will be seniors and his system should be completely installed. After that, his head will go an the block if there is no SEC championships in the near horizon.

So you think Petrino goes 8-5, if you tell him his second year he would lose Mallett, Childs, his best LB, and his best DB. Moronic at best, but then I consider the source.
