FIRE CURRIE Signs

No. Stop it. Jones will be fired by season’s end, let’s just let it play out rather than doing dumb ish like this and making our fan base and university look stupid.

No one looks stupid for thinking Jones should have been fired a month ago, at the latest.
I don’t want to let this garbage play out.
I want to get back to winning games.
It’s disgraceful that Jones is still the coach.

He doesn't sound stupid. Up to this point, Currie has dropped the ball hard.

Based on what??? Your expert opinion? Maybe... just maybe, he’s working on it. I know we are more qualified to do his job and all, but let the guy do what he was hired to do. Calling for his job makes UT fans look ignorant.

Nope. They've done everything in their power to be everything but UT up there. Hiring outsiders has worked so well for them..

They need to stop taking Haslam’s money if ceding all control is part of the deal.
And, one booster can’t be allowed to literally appoint his brother as University President.

We’re not going to literally fire Currie.
But, calling for his job does not make us look ignorant. It shows our frustration.
I’m surprised I haven’t read about a volleyball tweet from Currie today.

I'm holding out faith that our Athletic Dept. and Administration are going to do the right thing. If it takes them a little bit longer to get the right guy then I can accept that. Granted the last few weeks have been hell, but like others have said lets let the whold deal play out before we start calling for terminations. Well other than Butch's. :) Thank him for his contributions and let both parties move on. Stay classy guys, and yes I know its difficult right now, but hopefully it will be worth it when all is said and done. Go Vols

I think that's pretty much how it's always worked up there.

Why don't we just burn down the stadium, too.

Look, I'm just as p*ssed and hurt as everyone else, but let's take breath and think about this. It's far better to focus on the current failures and where the responsibilities for such belong. Right now, it's all on the coaching staff.

Currie may be making calls and working out details behind the scenes. If he is, he can't make that public, nor would any new hire be announced until season's end.

I'm more than willing to be critical of Currie, but real inaction should be a metric for such in lieu of perceived inaction.

Got to see what he finally does before he can be judged on anything. There is obviously a reason, just hope it's calculated instead of getting caught with pants down like usual.

He could at least release a public statement that the coach will be evaluated at the end of the season.
I thought making Currie the new AD was a stupid hire. I keep wanting to be proven totally wrong. I also thought Jones was a bad hire.

And the bat**** crazy appears right on schedule to make the fans of VN look dumb as ****

Yeah. But we know the FF forums are venting central.

I’m mad as hell too. We lost to Kentucky. KENTUCKY?!?! But trying to keep all of my mattresses and sofas intact and trying to keep my ranting under control.

Yeah, beyond time for a change. And I’m sure Currie will do it when he determines its the time to do so. So trying to keep my venting in check.

Now if he’s still coaching come spring practice I’m pulling the white gas out.

I completely understand. I would like a statement, too (especially after the Mac firing that was just announced). However, I'm trying to remain patient . . . even though I'm so sick of being at the bottom of our conference.

I'm trying to trust that the athletic department is working hard behind the scenes to get this one right.

Say what? Perceived inaction? Shark humper's story hit the wires and he was gone within a week. That was action. Butch has rapidly destroyed the success he was building. Self inflicted wounds as it were. The record speaks for itself. There is nothing 'perceived' wrt inaction on the part of the UTAD. It is very real. I wouldn't be surprised to see us lose next week as well and see nothing change. Florida will hit a homerun within the week, and by firing shark humper, we just got sent to the minors. Big names will go there before they will come to UT.

That's funny, because liberals have nothing to do with this mess. It's conservative stubbornness that's the problem. And everyone responsible for this is a big fat rich greedy conservative.

actually it is a pc driven administration. telling sign was when UT got out in front of gender neutral pronouns garbledegook. man buns. and skinny jeans are ruining masculinity.

See why I have a problem with it is because the longer this goes on the harder it will be to save this recruiting class. Ecspecially with the early signing period. His buyout goes down 1 mill after feb 28 there’s no way you can keep him that long. So if you know you’re going to make a change why not do it. You’ve lost the fans, but I see he is just letting butch bury himself hoping he will resign.

I join - He accepted the position knowing it was a real possibility he would need to make a decision on the head football coach

Exactly. Just a temper tantrum by a poster with a serious lack of maturity. Fans need to chill and let the people who do this for a living take care of it. And yes we do have people who know what they're doing. Might not register with tje spoiled children on this board, but there's no PlayStation reset button in life. If they won't accept it, tough. Deal with it.

Preach on KB...... tell it like it is

Hi, CP. Been thinking 🙏 about you.

Know what scares me? They’ll hire a search firm (don’t know why we even bother with an AD), the search firm will bill us for tens of thousands of dollars, they will hire a dooley/kiffin. I’m having nightmares, and not just during football games.

Okay. You have my interest. How do you know that the UT AD has taken no steps with respect to launching a coaching search, lining up funding for such, as well as the terms of a buy-out? Is it just because they haven't announced it? Patience.

It's easy to fire someone---have you ever had to do it? The hard part is making a good hire. And, before you state that all it takes is money, that's simply not true. Talk to any hiring manager where the need exists to recruit the talent and skills you're looking for. Money helps, but it's not the answer to every question a candidate may have.

Florida beats us to the punch again.
Butch should of been fired after our beat down by Georgia.

Or after SC or Alabama...

They obviously didn't want to make a move until after the season, if at all. But looks like UF may have forced their hand.

That said, between our apparent incompetence and probable Haslam involvement, I'm not too confident with the next hire.
