Finebaum's Take on Tennessee Football

"Don’t forget what Paul Finebaum was like when Tennessee football first hired Josh Heupel back in January of 2021. Finebaum didn’t attack Heupel personally, but he called the hire “underwhelming” and referred to it as a swing and a miss, according to reports then."

Must have missed this one in January of 2021, for Finebaum, the most underwhelming dweeb looking pontificator on the planet, to cast his demonic vitriol towards Coach Heupel is utterly preposterous. Off with his head!

My post was aimed at him, not you. I'm glad you posted it, Woodsman. i watched his show once. The goombas calling in are hilarious,

I know, I know, I've long known my brand of humor doesn't carry over well with some. As for the yapping head, Finebaum, I think he's the incomprehensible result of a lizard and toxic algae mating. How I long to see our Vols return to being the Beast of the East, watch that lip flapper grovel and fall all over himself with his fake, "I knew they'd be back."

Not taking sides here just saying, like him or not, Finebaum has made a very successful living being controversial and having, first a Jerry Springer radio show, and now the same as a tv show. I'm also not sure some of his crazier callers are not paid.

As much as it pangs me to say it, he was right. The hire was underwhelming to a large majority of people, this group of fans included. I was in that group too, but I'm old enough now and seen enough pearl clutching and knee jerking for a lifetime about this program, so I have always taken a cautiously optimistic approach to CJH.

I hope I am wrong about him and stoked about his most recent success. However, the meat of the schedule is here. So far so good, but we still have several top 25 teams to play. I'm very concerned about the injuries piling up, and the lack of defense.

Bask in the glow of a job well done VN! I expect those outside the program and some insiders will not be as high on him if/when the L's start happening. I'm thankful for what he has done, but in reality, we still have a long road to full recovery.

There's a thought. Get paid for being an asshat, I think I have the qualification for that.

They definitely are paid. I-Man, Jim from Tuscaloser, Legend, Tammy before she passed away, and maybe some others I'm forgetting are paid per phone call.

I mean, he wasn't wrong. We swung and missed with several coaches before landing on Heupel. There were a lot of people here on VN that had that same opinion.

I want to end this with I'm very happy with Heupel and while I wasn't overly thrilled with the hire initially I wasn't hating it either.

They have to be paid. Nobody is as dumb as some ( many) of his callers. Well since many are Bama fans and some post here, maybe they aren’t paid.

i looked at the job he did w/ missouri and w/ a average qb and thought we have and can get better talent here.thought if nothing else the offense would be fun to watch and if he can recruit just a little we could win some games.i way undersold the guy,he can be very special.he has a ton of drive and want in him.better lock his butt up at the end of the year long term.
