Finals thread.

I'm gonna print this out and highlight that comment in yellow to prove to Mrs Vercingetorix that I haven't been all this time on this orange-banded website for nothing. I am slowly accreting disciples, whom I'll eventually need to help establish discipline when I establish my world-dominating religion. She'll be proud.

:hi:

I appreciate intelligent conversation.

Dominance of size in leu of basketball skills and athleticism (I realize that doesn't necessarily go for his early career but it wasn't when he was winning rings) that said he made my top ten all time list

Shaq was a great player. Period. It wasn't graceful, but it was effective. And don't get me started on Kazaam. I still can't watch the Oscar's.

Hint taken.

May be back tomorrow with a top 10 list of my own. Got a 7hour car ride. Take it easy all.

Epic bump forthcoming?

and um, hope i didn't unintentionally somehow cross a line with that bump

Are you serious? This isn't communist China. It's a message board. Nothing wrong with that bump. Could have easily deleted whatever post bothered them. Or you can just kill the entire thread. Whichever is easier.

Plus they gotta deal with OKC every year. Not including a healthy Rose and Chicago. (Wishful thinking) Real talk, I hope Rose gets 100% because that team has potential

Every year? Ibaka and Harden will, more than likely, be playing elsewhere after next season.

Spoken like a guy who spent hundreds of dollars on Air Jordan shoes before Jordan won anything. Gotcha.

Actually, that is correct. Had about 15 pair of non worn jordans that I ebayed for several thousand dollars a few years ago. His early shoes brought up to $700, more than the shoes he wore during his run.

-Lebron is a tremendous athlete and ball player but has no midrange game and very little post up game, so saying he has a wider range of skills than anybody in history is a Stretch Armstrong stretch. He's a huge, strong, and fast athlete with great hands, anticipation, and feel that can finish at the rim as well as anyone ever has

-there was never a time where I heard MJ described as a rich man's Dominique and a sideshow character

Lebron:
10-15 feet = .480
15-22 feer = .372

Kobe:
10-15 feet = .424
15-22 feer = .416

Melo:
10-15 feet = .416
15-22 feer = .384

Lebron is so clutch. He had one of the greatest regular seasons ever, and then outdid himself in the playoffs.

Lebron Regular Season:
27.1 PPG, 7.2 RPG, 6.2 APG, 3.4 TOPG, 1.9 SPG, 0.8 BPG, .605 TS%

Playoffs:
30.3 PPG, 9.7 RPG, 5.6 APG, 3.5 TOPG, 1.9 SPG, 0.7 BPG, .576 TS%

Finals:
28.6 PPG, 10.2 RPG, 7.4 APG, 3.8 TOPG, 1.6 SPG, 0.4 SPG, .558 TS%

So what. If a guy shoots 2 and makes 1, he's 50%. Lebron seldom shoots little fades and usually pushes to the rim rather than pulling up because he is a tremendous finisher.

He'll need to develop one and improve his post game. It's not a knock on him to say that he can improve in certain areas, though some thin skinned lebron fans think it is.

Maybe it's because it's the smart thing to do. Even the "best" mid-range scorers score inefficiently from mid-range. Mid-range jumpers should only be utilized to keep the defense honest.

The average 2-point bucket is scored about 49-51% of the time. Kobe and Melo are coming nowhere near that from mid-range, yet they don't use that jumper to keep the D honest...it's their go-to shot. Stupid.

I knew it wouldn't be long until someone from ESPN compared Lebron to Jordan. JB should be fired for being the first. He is a great player but he has a long long way to go before being compared to the greatest. If Jordan didn't lose his mind and try baseball he would have won 8 in a row.

Fired? Really??
