No one brought it like zakai game in and game out. So many memories. And so many WINS. This team, a lot of talent but even more effort. And zakai was the ringleader. Can only hope our next pg honors the standard set by this man.

He also may get the 5th year. I don’t think people are looking at that enough. Vols plan to hold 3 scholarships through the summer.

Is it realistic though? I haven't heard much about this "5th year" in awhile.

What if you hold these 3 scholarships and it's not granted ?

#5 should never be retired. It should be enshrined as THE jersey # for every chosen Vol Dog that comes. Admiral, Lofton, ZZ!

ZZ and Mashack exhibit all the best for college athletics, they are the standard, unfortunately we will not see too many more players who commit as freshmen and stay 4 years. God Bless these young men for doing it right!

Thank you for the memories ZZ!!

One of (if not the best) PG I have ever watched at Tennessee! I hate that it ended the way it did for these guys

What can you say about Zakai other than he more than anyone else elevated this program back to national relevance, and along with Jahmai is the blueprint of what a VFL really is.

His impact and legacy will extend far past the four glorious years he spent here. Best PG the program ever had, and I know there are 15 SEC coaches thankful they never have to see him again.

I’ve only cried at one sporting event in my life and it was whenever Zakai was going through the Senior Day line. That should sum up the struggle he and his family have been through and what he means to Tennessee. Congrats to one of the greatest to ever play basketball at Tennessee, but most importantly, congrats to one of the most genuine people to come through Tennessee. We don’t love you for all the accolades, being 1st-team defense, career leader in assists and steals, the SEC Championships, the first to go to back to back Elite 8’s, etc. We love you because of how well you have represented Tennessee as a role model to all, we love you because you are routinely the shortest person on the court but somehow find a way to not only compete but in most instances impact entire games. We love you because you overcome adversity on and off the court. We love you because you play the game the way all fans expect their team to play. We love you because nobody can ever say you cheated the game. You never backed down to any challenge and I don’t throw this word around for many athletes, but you truly are a warrior. You don’t have “That Dog” in you, you have “That Vol” in you. I know you are a native New Yorker, but Rocky Top will always be your Home Sweet Home.
