The ironic thing about crosses and headers is while they are almost entirely ineffective against against the CPU, the CPU will absolutely wear you out with them. I'd say 4 out of 5 goals I surrender come on headers.

So after a couple weeks of playing this here's my impressions....

-Overall a very fun game, but it's definitely the most challenging FIFA ever, and has a bit of a learning curve.

-I don't really know what happened between this year and last or why it was done, but like VB mentioned earlier, crossing and scoring with the aerial attack has all but been removed from the game this season.

-I find the level of physicalitly that the ref allows the CPU to play with in and around the box VERY frustrating as opposed to how fouls are called at the other end of the pitch.

-45th and particularly 90th minutes goals are scored in this game at an epidemic level. I'd say in the 50 or so games I've played at least 35 have featured a goal in stoppage time. Kind of annoying.

The referees are random and range from lenient to strict. The cpu team brings cb's in to the attack at the end of the halves.

Its a great game and I don't even like soccer.

I agree its an awesome game, possibly the best sports game I've ever played. I was just making a few observations about some little things that frustrated me.

As for the referees, I wasn't talking about from game to game. I can't tell you how many times I've had a forward shoved to the ground just outside the box by a defender and not so much as a foul even be called, yet as I go back up field, I'll be called for a foul on a challenge that's not even half as agressive.

I know the CPU pushes more people forward towards the end of games, but I swear there are times it just seems the goals are predetermined to happen. You can even set your mentality to ultra defensive and it makes no difference. Once the CPU decides its going to score, its just going to score and there is almost nothing you can do about it sometimes.

UGH. Just lost the most frustrating game I've ever played on FIFA. I had the best defensive game I've played on '12, held ManU to just one shot in the entire game, but of course they scored, and Da Gea had 10 saves and watched another 10 shots miss the target on his way to a clean sheet. Of course.

Agree with everything said here. They strangely nerf the Ai late in games.

So what's the general consensus from everyone about this game? I'm not a soccer fan, but I do watch the World Cup games and I have enjoyed the demo quite a bit.

I wish MW3 wasnt coming out in 2 weeks. I gotta save up my money for that, but I'm definitely considering FIFA 12 after I buy that. Maybe I can come across a deal for the game online.

I only watch soccer during the world cup, and sometimes premier league. This is the best sports game by far. Defense is challenging and sometime the CPU scores on too many crosses. You should def buy it.

Holy crap. I went into the menu and started messing around with the settings this afternoon, and turned most of the assists either down or off altogether, and this is like a totally different game. With through ball direction set to manual I finally don't feel like I'm handicapped by the CPU always playing the ball straight into a defender and can set attacks up as I actually visualize them in my mind. I can't believe I played this for 2 weeks without ever thinking to turn that garbage off.

Don't even think about using it against a human. You will get destroyed because you don't have as much time to think and hold the button with all the high oressure

I somehow managed to get to League 4 on online before realizing that my crosses blew b/c I didn't have the cross assist on. I went close to 50 games without getting a header in goal from a cross.

Now that I have cross-assist on, it's an entirely different ballgame. I can actually use Drogba (on Cote D'Ivoire) for what he is meant for..
