Fetterman

Nothing was said. It sounded like a 4yo trying to explain how the dog got painted blue. I don't understand how to agree with a stance that the rep can't articulate
Ok, I'm still not sure what that has to do with my original point though.

I never said I agreed with him in this instance. Simply stated I wished more politicians on both sides of the Isle were more willing to buck their respective party stances.

To further clarify I want it to happen to dissolve the hyper partisanship and drawing of lines..........something you appear to attempt with me whenever you engage me for some reason.

Because it shows he's not bucking anything since he has no clue what is even being discussed. Based on the clips I've watched he's barely pushing a room temp IQ and that's probably why they didn't have to pay him as much. Give me actual intelligent people and I'll entertain it but that guy is embarrassing. He's an example of nothing but how broken DC is

Not a whole by comparison is it?

George Latimer (NY-16): Received over $1.6 million in direct pro-Israel PAC donations and was heavily supported by a $8.6 million spend from UDP in his primary challenge against Jamaal Bowman.

Wesley Bell (MO-1): Received over $827,000 in pro-Israel lobby donations as of June 2024, in his challenge against Cori Bush.

Jared Moskowitz (FL-25): Identified as one of the largest recipients of AIPAC donations in Congress, receiving roughly $1.5 million according to his social media.

Hakeem Jeffries (NY-08): Received over $1.1 million in 2023-2024 from pro-Israel PACs, with a significant amount of the contributions coming in November 2023.

I think Fetterman and more on the right like him that break with party hive mind would be refreshing, a needed throwback to saner times and a more politically stable era. It would be refreshing.

Fetterman has taken chump change in comparison to others, the bought and paid for monicker is silly. It's what party slurpers say and do.
The target is 0.

There are plenty of embarrassing elected officials. A lot of them in fact, MTG,AOC immediately come to mind. Are they as embarrassing?

For the record I've heard Fetterman sound reasonably intelligent. I'd never take him for a mensa member though. So does his mental acuity only matter because he is breaking with party lines or do you similarly dismiss others on both sides of the Isle and call them out for their drivel?

Yes they are embarrassing and I've said so. But they could at least string a couple sentences together without mispronouncing simple words. I've never heard fetterman do that without reading what someone prepared for him.

I call out stupid people all the time. Fetterman is definitely one at is the POTUS. Hegseth, Patel

The Central Committee of the Demokratik Party demands 100% obedience. And independent thought will result in the Gulag.
Fetterman will probably get a Fox News show after his senatorial career is over. Total boomercon bait. “I’m open minded. I listen to reasonable democrats like Fetterman”.

I think some money is ok. But large........multi-million amounts certainly is troubling.

We find ourselves in troubling times. Most of our traditional allies no longer share important traditional Western values.

I think Israel absolutely has taken advantage of our relationship.

None is ok. Insider trading by elected officials is corrupt and should carry heavy penalties.
How do Western values differ from non-Western values?
Yes Israel has taken us and some others for a ride.

Which elected or appointed officials on the right do you find intelligent and or articulate.

And I'd disagree with you about AOC in your second sentence. When she's off script and ad libbing she struggles to even complete simple sentences.

Maybe I'm just giving Fetterman a pass because of his health history. IDK because I have heard some of his interviews, even when he was one of the up and coming stars of his party. He's always had those struggles.

Massie would be my favorite. Rand Paul is very smart as well. Neither come across as completely unable to explain their position on an issue.

If a health issue makes you incapable of presenting even the most basic argument then maybe they shouldn't be making policy for the country. It's a pretty low bar we should be able to set

Taking money from Pacs is akin to insider trading? I guess I've never really considered it through that lens.

Rule of law, justice is blind. Freedom of speech, individual liberties, just to name a few. Our traditional allies in Europe have enacted some law that is very antithetical to freedom.

Massie has received a bad rap. For many any opposition to Trump isn't acceptable, though he's probably one of the most (traditional Republican) Republicans in office right now.

I said that initially about Fetterman as well. But he did seem to get better. Haven't followed him that closely though so I could be wrong.

Edit to add:

By the way are you a Kentucky political fan boy or something?

The sad thing is that there is only one democrat I can think of who is in fact „reasonable“.
Honest question, do you believe Bill Clinton with his policies in 1992 would have any chance at all of becoming the democrat nominee today? The party has went so far left so quickly that it is frankly unrecognizable.
Why will none of the left leaning people here admit that the democrat party we all grew up with quite simply no longer exists? The tribalism has removed any ability to objectively discern reality

-Good point, I went from insider trading to PAC's. PAC money, especially on behalf of foreign governments, should be illegal too.

Yes Bill Clinton would have a shot at winning today. He was that dynamic. The policies would be tweaked but he’d still have a shot. Successful politicians adjust their positions accordingly. Kind of like saying George Washington wouldn’t win today with his 1788 policies. Both parties are of the progressive left, democrats maybe slightly more.

Foreign money PACs are already illegal.
only American subsidies of foreign owned companies or citizens of US can contribute.

And Saudi Arabia companies are of one of the top 2 contributors.

Total Influence Spending (2016-2025): The Saudi government is ranked as one of the top foreign principals, spending over $327 million on lobbying, PR, and influence operations.

Total Combined Spending (AIPAC PAC/UDP): Approximately $126.9 million, focusing on supporting candidates deemed pro-Israel and opposing those deemed critical.

Massie only gets a bad rap from The Big govt, increased spending conservatives that he pisses off. He actually tries to do what they and their constituents all claim to want

No that just happens I guess. They did have McConnell so KY isn't all great

McConnell recently purchased a retirement home in the Galapagos so he can spend his remaining years with the other ancient tortoises 😉

I think you didn’t read the post I was responding to.

The part at the end that says “there’s no money in that senator.” I was simply pointing out there is money in it, even for John.
$250k?

That converts to $2.50 from congressional dollars.

Thomas Massie and Rand Paul are the rare good politicians IMO.
