Ferguson Riots

Hmmm

Missouri cop was badly beaten before shooting Michael Brown, says source | Fox News

Darren Wilson, the Ferguson, Mo., police officer whose fatal shooting of Michael Brown touched off more than a week of demonstrations, suffered severe facial injuries, including an orbital (eye socket) fracture, and was nearly beaten unconscious by Brown moments before firing his gun, a source close to the department's top brass told FoxNews.com.

“The Assistant (Police) Chief took him to the hospital, his face all swollen on one side,” said the insider. “He was beaten very severely.”

And this should be noted as well:

Wilson suffered a fractured eye socket in the fracas, and was left dazed by the initial confrontation, the source said. He is now "traumatized, scared for his life and his family, injured and terrified" that a grand jury, which began hearing evidence on Wednesday, will "make some kind of example out of him," the source said.

Question. How would y'all feel about an independent review board being set up to review all cop involved deaths? Do you think that would prevent what we've seen in Ferguson the last week?

I don't think it would help. The problem is there is this warped perception that cops are killing black folks like its going out of style. That just isn't the case

They are putting blaming their woes on everyone but themselves. Who is most violent towards the black community? The black community. That is the root of the problem and without that being addressed and some corrected (and I have no idea how) I don't see how people can move forward.

I really don't think he's going to get a fair trial.

I don't think he will stand trial if these reports are accurate. If he does gets indicted, every law enforcement officer in Ferguson and surrounding areas should drop their badge (keep their gun cause lord knows they will need it) and go home. Let the governor fend for himself.

Don Lemon just announced on CNN they have heard "unconfirmed reports" that Dorian Johnson lied.

Sounds like a plan to me.

If he broke his orbital socket then pictures and Mike Brown's hands should tell that story. Would be irrefutable, not that that will make a difference to some.

Shawn Parcells’ credentials, role in Michael Brown autopsy questioned by doctors | fox4kc.com

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Kansas City man is now front and center in the controversial shooting death of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo. Shawn Parcells owns a company that provides autopsy services, and some in the forensic community are taking issue with his involvement in this or any other case.

Parcells owns National Forensic Autopsy and Recovery Services. He says lawyers for the family of Michael Brown contacted him because of his expertise in gunshot wounds.

“I am a forensic pathologist assistant and medical investigator,” Parcells told FOX 4’s Shannon O’Brien.

However, that’s something of a dubious title according to forensic pathologist Dr. Erik Mitchell.

“That is a degree that does not exist in my knowledge, except in the mind of Shawn Parcells,” Dr. Mitchell said.

Dr. Mitchell takes issue with Parcells’ title.

“You cannot claim the title, because it is a formal, licensable position. You can assist somebody; in this way I can say, for instance, I have paid my taxes, so I am an assistant President of the United States,” Dr. Mitchell said.

Why can't the autopsy results reveal what, if any, marks are on Brown's hand to substantiate? Seems to me, the autopsy performed by the family showing this would be enough to settle it.

It's frustrating hearing "facts" from both sides based on testimony or second hand accounts, especially when there is hard evidence (in this case the autopsy) that can confirm said "facts".

I'm not calling anybody a liar, but there are reasonable ways right now to confirm some of this stuff.

Is it known what Brown used to fracture the orbit; Fist, butt of hand, elbow, forehead, rock?

I don't think it's going to matter. The cop has already been found guilty. He will go down as a way to appease the community.

Didn't something similar to this happen in Cincinnati about a decade back?

Same sheet different decade-was 2001. I lived in Over-the-Rhine when the riots were going on. Same type of garbage causing problems for no other reason than it was an excuse to act like an idiot.

But wasn't there something about the police basically telling people, at least in a certain areas, "Fine, have it your way, we're outta here...good luck with that."?

Well by all accounts the shooting was justified and no state charges should be filed. However look for Holder to file federal civil rights charges over the initial stop.

The investigators can't release their hard evidence during the investigation because they have to be able to identify known fact and fiction from the witnesses' testimony to know who is believable.

In an ideal world where people had common sense, the protestors would shut the f' up until the investigation is over and then decide whether the protest is justifiable.

The protestors do not need to shut up!

The rioters and looters need to be locked up and the politicians need to shut the F up

I would expect this type of reaction if they found the cop not guilty. They have not even gone to trial. I think the actions on both sides - the protestors and police- has been nothing short of tragic.

Really? They don't even know the facts and are demanding the officer stand trial. Every day, the case looks weaker against him.
