Pretty simple actually. He's not there to calm the masses and ask for a time of reflection and peace while the facts are sifted through before making any rash statements or actions.
He is there looking to "make a name for himself". The angry are asking for the guys identity and he just follows suit in the public forum to gain favor.

This has nothing to do with him but he doesn't realize that.

Rumor going around on FB that the cop was black, FWIW.

It might be bogus, but thought I would add to the rumor mill and gossip mongering.

Oh yeah, what happened to him? He was pretty smart, but kinda a dick sometimes.

Update: In my head I was creating an amalgamation of BPV and another poster. BPV wasn't a dick, at all.

Yeah, but the big difference is that BPV knew a lot about the economy (compared to most posters, and GV admits it's not necessarily his expertise) and he didn't support armed forces/law enforcement as much as GV.

It he were I would think the police department would have released that he was without giving a name. That would stop or at least slow down the riots, IMO.

Doubtful. Then they'll just move on to the man getting them down and he'd be labeled an uncle Tom.
