Ferguson Riots

Just got real again; rocks, bricks, and glass bottles being thrown at cops. Cops have started arresting protesters, reports of damage to cop cars. Also some fires have been reported.

put a 15 foot barbed wire fence around the sorry burg

How about all those "trouble makers" that are called "protesters" who have been arrested, since this has started, gather them all up & put them on a barge. Take their butts out to the Atlantic Ocean & drop the anchor down to 2 miles deep & then say....bye bye..... you're on your own now. And don't forget to take LG & his buddies Al & Holder & Jesse along too.

2 officers injured in Ferguson; 5 arrested

"Two St. Louis County officers were injured. One was struck just centimeters below his eyeball. Who could've awakened this morning blind by the rock that hit him. This behavior will not be tolerated," said Johnson. "The safety of the officers and the individuals in our community will be maintained.

At what point do cops say enough is enough and refuse to deploy without protective riot gear? I wonder if rank and file LEOs could sue the department for failing to give them the necessary tools to protect themselves?

Like I said before on this thread. It's easy to protest into the late night when you don't have to get up and be a productive member of society.

After this was done yesterday the police chief was out last night w/the crowd of thugs & was jumped on & was being beat up by some in the crowd. There were 4 people arrested from that out burst. What's wrong w/these dumbass people for god's sake?

I'll say this, the media got that wrong completely wrong. I watched the whole thing live on livestream till about 2:30. Chief Jackson agreed to march with the people and just as they started to march two or three Ferguson police officers rushed the crowd and pulled him out for no apparent reason and that's what kicked it off.

Skip to about the 10:13 part and watch. You see the Chief walking with the protesters and the crowd isn't doing anything to him and then you see two police officers bully their way through the crowd and that's when things got heated. I have no idea why the media falsely reported this like it has.

The video doesn't show exactly what the four(?) did to get pulled out, but it wasn't because of the Chief. However, there was something going on behind the camera in the video that caused some concern as evidenced by the woman that kept screaming about the pushing.

I'm all about them removing the trouble makers so the rest can protest in peace if they desire.

Agreed. Just saying that the media shouldn't report it as, "Protesters attacked the Police Chief" type deal when clearly he wasn't attacked. Something could have went on behind Tom Jackson but attacking him wasn't way they intervened. Reporting that headline only inflames tensions I think. :hi:

Oh and Grand I want your advice on something as a former LEO. A couple of nights ago someone snapped a picture of this bracelet on a police officer (unknown what department). Yesterday the DOJ ordered officers not to wear them, my question should they have worn them in the first place? I know they have freedom of expression but couldn't that be considered a uniform violation? I'm torn on it because on one side just because they are police officers doesn't mean they can't express themselves but on the other hand I don't think on-duty officers should wear such things given the nature of the situation they are in.

PS.
On another note the DOJ also has ordered them to start wearing badges/name tags again. How do you feel about that? Like previously I'm torn; having their names on them could potentially put them & their families at risk but on the other it would be hard to file complaint charges against an officer if they don't identification either.

How can the DOJ order local LEO to wear or not wear anything?

This. The DOJ might order their own officers not to wear them, but they can't order locals.

I'm unfamiliar with what it is, but my guess is it's the professional aspect of wearing something like that. About the only thing that should be done would be the stripe over the badge for a fallen officer.
