Fury of Ferguson descends on St. Louis County Council : News

Council Chairwoman Hazel Erby twice threatened to end the meeting prematurely if the demonstrators — who interrupted speakers, including eight residents appealing to the council on zoning and other matters — didn’t cease.

Undeterred, the audience loudly cheered speakers who likened Wilson and other law enforcement officials to “war criminals,” compared St. Louis County government to the Ku Klux Klan and drew analogies between the St. Louis region and Jim Crow laws.

“You are ISIS to black people,” one speaker told council members.

The audience jeered a woman who voiced support for the police. She received a police escort from the building after the meeting.

Speakers also threatened to shut down St. Louis Cardinals and Rams games this Sunday, disrupt weekend grocery shopping trips throughout the area and mount massive demonstrations if the Cardinals reach the World Series.

St. Louis can be a fun, but rowdy time when the World Series is there. I could see that going south really quick if it is disrupted. Cardinals fans are pretty passionate and love their drinks.

Just saw where they extended the grand jury's term again until January. Wonder if that is precursor to a decision not to indict? Probably would prevent protests/riots breaking out in the middle of winter.

There seems to be a confrontation going on between police and protesters right now Ferguson. Supposedly a white man tried to run over protesters in the streets and hasn't been arrested and that's what sparked it off. Also there was an earlier scuffle at a farmer's market between protesters and shoppers.

He didn't try to hit people like someone previously said in this thread. You guys made it seem like he was driving around the street deliberately trying to hit people and that's not at all what happened in the video. At the very worst he bumped some idiots who shouldn't be blocking the street. If more people did that these idiots would think twice about blocking traffic like the dumbasses they are.

They need to stop being labeled as protestors, because they aren't. Going to a farmer's market isn't about protesting, it's about being thuggish. Same thing with them standing in the road and blocking cars and getting "run over." These are just thugs causing drama.
