Federal Indictment of Donald Trump

LOL

Remember when the FBI opened up a investigation into Hillary's email shenanigans right before the general election in October of 2016? Which likely cost her the election...

Remember the FBI opened the investigation and then cleared her before the election? What better way to make an issue go away than to pretend to investigate and clear the person. Hiliary could have come clean with everything well before the elections and chose not to - she owned the timing.

Yep, about the same time they started investigating Russian collusion on Trump with false information. Wonder why everyone is suspicious of a sealed indictment. GEEZZZZ

Nope, I agree that you definitely don’t know anything about it.
That is why I post links to sources that do.

Trump declassification rationale "idiotic," "chaos Inducing": Ex-FBI agent

Donald Trump's "I gave a standing order" defense, is a good example of how unprofessional his handling of sensitive material has been. Trump clearly didn't take that responsibility seriously at all, and this was after making such a huge fuss over Hillary Clinton's improper use of a private server, during the 2016 Presidential Election campaign.

“In my administration, I’m going to enforce all laws concerning the protection of classified information. No one will be above the law”

The belly aching that current administration is doing it too is so delicious, its hard to describe. And that only NOW it's a partisan tactic may be the biggest example of cognitive dissonance yet. The fact you guys don't recognize it isnt even surprising.

I appreciate y'all giving TDS sufferers like myself an early Christmas. Thank you.

Why Donald Trump’s declassification claim might not be that outlandish - POLITICO

And this is from Politico, certainly no friend of Trump. It seems he’s not as far out in left field as you seem to think.

As that article acknowledges, the comparison with the Scooter Libby case (who was convicted of 4 felonies in 2007, by the way) is not apples to apples.

I have yet to read a professional opinion which states that a President should not leave a written record behind when declassifying material containing sensitive information with national security implications. By most accounts, Trump was sloppy at best. He is not a victim here.

Uncharted territory now since the president can literally declassify any and all documents at any time . It doesn’t really matter what a “ “ professional opinion thinks “. Sloppy, ok but why do the ones in power continue to make him look like a victim ?

The President can't declassify material that falls under The Atomic Energy Act on his own.

Yes, it does ... when it clearly conflicts with what you have stated as being a fact.

Dude, Trump was apparently subpoenaed and ordered to return any docs he wasn't supposed to have. He claimed he didn't have any. Yet he did. Someone then probably narced him out and boom, raid.

Quit your whining whataboutisms and just wait and see what happens here. If the docs in question are not related to our nuclear weapons, he's probably got a viable alibi that he thought he declassified everything.

Nothing has ever stuck to The Donald.

If they are our nuclear docs, Donald probably going to face the music.

Maybe. Heh.

So you're saying/speculating that some unnamed source reported that Trump walked out with classified documents and the person responsible for security of the classified documents in the WH has been silent for months? Imagine the person on the hook for misplaced classified documents didn't speak up. Yeah, I know if it was my skin vs somebody else it wouldn't be a secret that he walked out with classified material.
I believe it was reported early on that somebody alerted the government about the location in Mar a Lago of the documents.

Trump says "it was all declassified" — how declassification usually works - CBS News

From the above article :

"First, a U.S. president does have uniquely sweeping declassification abilities, though there is a process that involves written documentation and several other steps.

It's not the case that a president can declassify documents with just verbal instructions. His instruction to declassify a given document would first be memorialized in a written memo, usually drafted by White House counsel, which he would then sign.
"

Likely the passports weren't with the documents and it speaks more to how widespread the search was - this is a witch hunt. If you travel much, your passport is probably located where you expect to find it when you are packing rather than hidden away in some files.
That's exactly the thought process that lead me to ask those questions. Trump doesn't live in Mar a Lago in the summers. Why wouldn't the passport typically uses be with him?

It has to be early because starting today the January committee will be reduced another FTE.

Back to your original point, we have seen where decisions like a partisan witch hunt opens a door that is unhealthy for the republic. It won't stop here when the Republicans gain control of the levers of government. That is concerning but needed at this point.
