I played football at Morristown West with James "little man" Stewart. Actually knew him before that playing organized baseball growing up as kids in Morristown where he got his name "little man". By his junior year in high school he was anything but "little". Everyone knew he was special long before his college and pro career. Drove up to the Hall of Fame game to watch his first game as a pro as the two new expansion teams of Jacksonville and Carolina played. Looked like a million bucks when he walked out in that suit after the game.
Played softball with Heath and Benji Shuler on Bradys tournament team in the mid to late 90's. Both were outstanding and could fly and both could hit it a mile. Both were very nice guys and joked around a lot and competitive especially with each other.
Off thread topic but I also played softball with Brent Collins some in the 90's. He was a moose and could hit a softball 450 feet easily. He played at Georgia and got hurt transferred back to Carson Newman (raised in New Market, Tn) and was drafted in 1990 by the Buffalo Bills but never played a down. Just a spectacular friend that loved competition.
His brother was Todd Collins, a linebacker that played for the Patriots and the Rams with at least one Superbowl ring.
Both did. Brent had a groin injury and Todd had a foot or arch injury, transferred briefly to Tennessee and then to Carson Newman.
I never met Todd but Brent was a hoot!
Oh okay. I didn't realize Brent had a similar story. I hung out with Todd at a football camp a few years ago. He's definitely a character.
