I played football at Morristown West with James "little man" Stewart. Actually knew him before that playing organized baseball growing up as kids in Morristown where he got his name "little man". By his junior year in high school he was anything but "little". Everyone knew he was special long before his college and pro career. Drove up to the Hall of Fame game to watch his first game as a pro as the two new expansion teams of Jacksonville and Carolina played. Looked like a million bucks when he walked out in that suit after the game.

Played softball with Heath and Benji Shuler on Bradys tournament team in the mid to late 90's. Both were outstanding and could fly and both could hit it a mile. Both were very nice guys and joked around a lot and competitive especially with each other.

Off thread topic but I also played softball with Brent Collins some in the 90's. He was a moose and could hit a softball 450 feet easily. He played at Georgia and got hurt transferred back to Carson Newman (raised in New Market, Tn) and was drafted in 1990 by the Buffalo Bills but never played a down. Just a spectacular friend that loved competition.

His brother was Todd Collins, a linebacker that played for the Patriots and the Rams with at least one Superbowl ring.

Worked at the Last Lap/Library back in the 90's, alot of the football team spent time there as did alot of college students. Some notables were Peyton (never saw the man drink alcohol, just water), Little Man Stewart (one of the nicest guys on the planet, a true class act) and a DL named Shane Burton that was drafted by the Dolphins. Nobody wanted to mess with that guy, luckily, he was never any trouble at the bar.

The biggest partiers back then of all the jocks was the men's cross country team, they drank like fishes and still got up for their early morning runs. Ahhhh....the good old days.

I've met Todd and Brent before. I thought it was Todd who got hurt and transferred back from Georgia?

I played against Shazzon Bradley & Ernest Fields in HS. Didn't know them but think I still have some scars on my body from the encounters. Shazzon broke our QBs jaw in that game.

Both did. Brent had a groin injury and Todd had a foot or arch injury, transferred briefly to Tennessee and then to Carson Newman.

I never met Todd but Brent was a hoot!

Oh okay. I didn't realize Brent had a similar story. I hung out with Todd at a football camp a few years ago. He's definitely a character.

Cool, they were both animals on the football field. It's been a while but I think Brent told me he was leading the team in tackles when he got hurt at Georgia.

I still wonder why two State Championship kids 25 minutes from Knoxville would pick Georgia but back in those days alot of kids here liked the "red & black".

Peyton Manning threw a snowball at my wife outside the Kappa Sig house in 1996. Hit her in the face. He did apologize.

That's all I got outside of autographs at the Orange and White game.

You a Kappa Sig living in Huntsville?

I know a variety of players. I was close to both the football and basketball players while at UT. I was there from 01 to 07 (no I didnt fail) haha....

I am still close to a lot of football players, ced, X, demonte, ainge, ramon, juice, parker, reynolds, berry, c brown, inky, ayers, and mayo. I know a couple of more, but those are ones I talk to. Some of them were in my wedding.

My wife was a vol hostess, so she knew some and I knew some, and now we all know each other, ha.

As for basketball, I know a few like crump, slay, pearl, tabb and a few of the lady vols.

Most of these guys, are just really cool down to earth people. Wouldnt trade the times I had in college for anything!

I know John Finlayson (TE 1997-2001) and his family. Same home town, high school, etc. Went to high school and played baseball with his brother, Jake, who was also a member of the Vols. John is now the community president/branch sales manager (or something like that) at Regions Bank here. I've been this close :huggy: to the NC ring.

I did some lines with Alvin Harper two weeks ago
Laughed out loud....I have some very nice, weed stories from the early 1980's, but I think I will keep those names under the radar....If anyone sees Jeff Oscheski (spelling) I would like my coat back

My wife was watching "Say Yes to the Dress" and I walk in and then freaked out. Eric Berry was helping pick out his Mom's wedding dress for a renewal ceremony.
