Facebook rebrands itself as "Meta"

hmm, never knew that, thanks.

looking it up "lede" is a word invented by journalists to avoid confusion with the metal "lead".
Someone did same for me years ago.

Personally, I think it's a  mute point.

I don't think the truth, the FBI working with FB to lie to help the Biden campaign, is nearly as known as you are suggesting. parts of that was known, but at the very least it was a wide spread lie of omission that most of society knows, or at least cares about.

Look at LG and EL, they still spout crap about people on this board bringing up Hunter's laptop. it went on for years in the general media with them dismissing and attacking any reference to Hunter's laptop as election interference. we haven't seen the same sustained widespread journalism or attention on the FBI working with FB, which is the same "wrong" just by the different side.

I do agree about CT going to far and generally arguing that one thing being true supports the rest, its why I got tired of being one, too much intellectual dishonesty to say they care about the truth. but in this case I think there was plenty of distinction from those called CT on this item, and the general public.

Clearly, the FBI lying about it is the biggest smoking gun, and we didn't know they were lying for a minute.

And yeah, LG deserves to get raked for tht.

I think this goes to a larger point the right was complaining about......weaponizing government agencies with almost limitless resources and little oversight.

They lied about it, what else are they lying about? How do you correct/stop that? Extremely concerning and horrible sign of what's to come.

If it makes you feel better, the parties have been politically weaponizing the FBI for much longer than I've been alive. This is just how things go.

It has been funny seeing the right go from calling me and Ron Paul loons for wanting to get rid of the CIA and FBI 15-20 years ago, and now nobody on the right thinks that's crazy.

Even loons guess right occasionally.

I think they've been weaponized and used in different gray areas before for sure. I've just never seen them so in tune collaboratively with an individual party before.

Sometimes things become so corrupt you have to just start over. The problem with these agencies though is that many of these operatives are experts in subversion, hiding in plain sight etc.

Don’t Fall For The Censorship Industrial Complex’s Superficial Makeover

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg is smart to shake up leadership ahead of the Trump inauguration, but it hardly means the censorship industrial complex is done.

Zuck gave the boot to top exec Nick Clegg, the Brit behind Facebook’s silencing of right-wing voices, and is replacing him as president of global affairs with Joel Kaplan, a Republican sure to be far more palatable to the incoming White House and GOP-majority Congress.

Clegg, a former left-liberal hack British politician, absolutely needed axing: It was under his leadership that Facebook banned Donald Trump, suppressed The Post’s reporting on the Hunter Biden laptop scandal and removed posts suggesting that COVID was man-made.

But changing the public face of Meta is no guarantee that Facebook will become a permanent rock of free speech.

The company remains riddled with lefty bas, from top execs who donated thousands to President Biden’s campaign to underlings who clamored for Trump’s posts to be scrubbed from the site.

And nothing prevents Zuck from tilting back to the Clegg era if Democrats regain DC power the “anti-disinformation” lies of the pro-censorship elite.

The censorship industrial complex that thrived under the Biden administration is huge, stretching through a host of “nonprofits” as well as a web of federal agencies, including the FBI, CIA, and the State Department’s Global Engagement Center, which worked quietly with social media sites to censor dissent.

It is crazy how all these billionaires are kissing the ring. I'm totally fine with billionaires being political and having opinions and causes, and all that. I do not care if Soros is a liberal, the Kochs are libertarians, and Ken Griffin is a Republican. Do what you want with your money and your influence, if it's what you believe in.

What makes me completely uncomfortable is political behavior by billionaires that is the result of fear or croneyism. We're in a weird place right now. Zuck, Musk, and Bezos were all at odds with Trump 5 years ago and now they're all buddy buddy, for some odd reason.

Interesting take I heard....Zuck thinks R's are taking over and he wishes to be in good graces.

Lmfao “they’re kissing the ring!”

The same people who didn’t kiss the ring when Trump was in office first time, but now, any decision they make that the right would approve of is clearly just out of fear of Trump.

You had no objections to any of these companies behaving out of fear of left wing policies. You have no evidence they’re afraid of Trump nor of anything he will do. Especially given they did the opposite of what he would like the entire time he was president.

But now it’s really bad…

They all bet on the wrong horse and now they're scrambling for cover.

Huff's not wrong here although I doubt he understands how.
