Zuckerberg Announces Fantasy World Where Facebook Is Not a Horrible Company

About halfway through the delusional fever dream that was Facebook’s biggest product announcement of all time, Mark Zuckerberg said that “the last few years have been humbling for me and our company in a lot of ways,” as Facebook has nominally had to grapple with the harm it’s done to this world. It’s hard to find anything “humble” about a proposal to fundamentally remake human existence using technology that currently does not and may not ever exist and that few are currently clamoring for.

If I see one more person gladly answer those stupid data mining "What was your first car?" posts . . . People are so dumb.
My standard reply:

Favorite Car: Stop
Hometown: Giving
First Pet’s Name: Away
High School Mascot: Your
Elementary School Attended: Personal
Mother’s Maiden Name: Data
Favorite Sports Team: You Moron!

‘Meta’: Facebook’s New Name Mocked Online, Means ‘Dead’ In Hebrew

‘Meta’: Facebook’s New Name Mocked Online, Means ‘Dead’ In Hebrew | The Daily Wire
My understanding is that meta in the digital world refers to all the hidden data that goes on in the background. So they are just being open with the fact they are spying on people, and people are too dumb to see it.

Of course next comes the digital world metaverse. Where one can more or less exist outside the real world. Think ready player one, not that advanced just yet, but considering how glued people are to their phones it's not far off.

The data centers probably inspired the Baghdad Embassy with their bunker profile and layers of security.
What is ironic about all these platforms is they are very power and water hungry and the climate change sheep post away.

Facebook isn't rebranding. How can every source here (except NPR) and every person get this wrong? Meta is the new name of the parent company. Facebook is still Facebook. You don't change the name of one of the most recognizable brands in the world just because some people are discovering they don't like how social media works (while largely continuing to use it).
