We cant lose this game or the team will quit on him, it will be the biggest game he has every coached in, and i dont know if he can handle the pressure of the game, because deep down this one game could affect the future of this program and his future at Tennessee there will be a lot riding on this game, plus the Hogs are saying the same thing after losing this past Saturday, both coaches are coaching for there future.
Ok I was thinking about if we fire jones then who could we realisticly hire that would be worth his buyout .
Any coach Tennessee hires will have things to learn and the team will also have to learn a new system .
Realisticly it's not worth fireing butch before we give him a extended time to coach here
So who would believe this would be a good hire. I'll hang up and listen.
Kliff Timothy Kingsbury (born August 9, 1979) is an American football coach and former college and professional quarterback. During his playing career, Kingsbury held and currently holds many Division I (NCAA) passing records, and won the Sammy Baugh Trophy in 2002. He is currently the head coach of the Texas Tech Red Raiders football program, where he played from 19982002.
Prior to being named head coach of the Red Raiders, Kingsbury was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach with the Texas A&M Aggies, coaching Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel during the 2012 season. Kingsbury began his coaching career as an assistant with the Houston Cougars from 2008-2011.
Perhaps a better Kiffin?
I think our track record of trying to guess the next big thing coach has shown a fatally flawed process. Perhaps we should act like a blue blood program and pay a proven coach to come in.
That said, Butch will be here for at least 2 more years, even if he keeps crapping his pants in games.
Heck no (to Kingsbury, Whittingham, Mullen, Cutcliffe, etc.).
It is realistically going to take an astronomically monumental hire to get this football program out of the current state. We would need someone with enough credibility to salvage current recruiting classes at that time as well as add to those commits with additional top-level talent. We would also need someone with an elite, top echelon staff that can coach and develop said talent to win at worst an average of 8 games/year. This means truly competing for SEC championships and putting the team in position for a potential playoff spot year-in-and-year-out from the get-go.
No Kingsbury, Whittingham, Mendenhall, Mullen, Cutcliffe, etc. will be able to do those things at UT.
The administration is going to have to unload the bank and red carpet for whoever that is. With that said, I don't believe the university is financially in a position to compete to be an elite school, athletically speaking. It's the sad, sad truth.
