I just downloaded two of their albums. This instrumental band from Austin, TX is ridiculously amazing.

Yea I have downloaded them too and they are pretty awesome.

If anyone watches it, the theme music playing during the tv show of Friday Night Lights is from an Explosions in the Sky song.

Look up "Time Stops" or "Your Hand in Mine." They are kinda slow paced, but it is very beautiful instrumental music. If you like fast paced music with vocals I'd suggest The Format.

Dickens, you're girl and, thusly, you may already know about Unwed Sailor, but they're a Christian ambient band. The Marionette and the Music Box, while 5 years old, moves me every time.

Also, have you had a chance to listen to Godspeed! You Black Emperor? Incredible.

Check out the latest record from The Matches, too.

I don't like to post reviews of a band/album until I have the chance to really hear them. I drove along the lake today with the top down and lost myself in the EITS album I downloaded. I actually had to catch myself in a state of reflection and near trance as my ears were awakened to a new genre. I guess the nearest I've come to this kind of music was Steve Vai's Passion and Warfare.

Skeptics will wonder where the lyrics are. Those who appreciate the emotion of music will insist that vocals would ruin the artists' willingness to pour out their souls through their hands.

As a musician who tends to (at times, over-) incorportate my own feelings into what I play and write, I'll vouch that this is the real deal.

Thanks so much for the introduction, Dickens. Happy listening.
