Explosion in Boston?

All AQ sites should be blocked, imo. What is DHS doing, leaving the sites open so it can spy on the people who visit them?

In my own experience, specific news articles were blocked after I used them on a message board. The newspaper or magazine website was not blocked, just the articles containing information on certain subjects. This happened to me many times, so many times that I know for a fact it happens.

Are you really asking for Obama to start dismantling the 1st admendment like he has tried the 2nd?

For those who hold American women in high regard...

have you seen the majority of them in my generation?

Are you speaking of censorship or copyright law, here? Reprinted and reposted copyrighted material is often removed from websites. That has little to do with the censorship of information and a lot to do with intellectual property rights.

If I knew how to make a pressure cooker bomb with a sophisticated trigger and posted a on blog the exact, step by step instructions, with pictures, should it be ok?

I'm not sure how I feel about it either way although my first thought is that it should be removed/censored.

Yes, but since you posted it on a public forum I also wouldn't have a problem with the FBI taking a look at you.

so would this need to be blocked?

you're probably going to need to define "blocked" as you're using it. Also, what subjects can you not read about?

You are not sure if I want terrorist sympathizing aliens to be deported? Permit me to assure you that I am. They can exercise their free speech to support mass murdering terrorists... somewhere else.

I just thought free speech was a big thing around here, that's all. I die a little on the inside every time I see someone vouching for Alex Jones and Infowars, but that doesn't mean I believe the government should shut them down.

So, you want terrorist sympathizers deported, but you are okay with keeping around individuals like yourself who want to trample the Constitution?

Right, that makes a lot of sense.

I have experienced blocks on links to specific news articles which were published in mainstream media...many, many, many times. It happened most often when the article was published in a foreign paper of an "ally" and the article was not consistent with the public relations of that country or our former Administration.

There is no doubt that DHS can and does block AQ web sites. So, what is the answer to my original question? If DHS is allowing access to AQ sites in order to create visitor lists, I think it needs to stop doing that and block all AQ sites, period. We are told that the Boston bombers got their technical information from an AQ web site. Either that is false or DHS is allowing access to terrorist sites which it could block.

Right, that makes a lot of sense.

It makes no sense for our country to harbor America hating supporters of terrorists. How does deporting terrorist sympathizers trample the Constitution? They are free to speak, we are free to deport them in accordance with our laws, and they can continue sympathizing with terrorists somewhere else.

If you are posting detailed instructions on how to make bombs I don't have a problem with the FBI looking into your life.

i don't mind the fbi looking into whomever is looking at sites about how to make bombs.
It is what it is. If they are just interested in how the hell someone makes one, then move on. If they find any connection whatsoever, fix the problem.

If you are posting detailed instructions on how to make bombs I don't have a problem with the FBI looking into your life.

would that also include fiction writers or authors of similar works?

I assume anyone writing about guns would also need to be investigated?

I'm pretty sure they're not supporting a terrorist if they don't think he's a terrorist.

I'm also pretty sure that deporting them doesn't exactly make them free to speak.

Free speech is a big thing. Terrorism is a big thing also. There should be consequences for aliens and naturalized citizens who support terrorism with their speech, i.e. deportation.

you really comparing a site about how to make a bomb to fiction authors?

can you explain the difference? If a story I write contains details about how the main character created a bomb should I be investigated?

there are also instructions on how to turn a semi-auto gun into a full auto. Should those people be investigated also?

is the act of writing it in any way equal to the act of carrying out the instructions?

Again, believing someone is innocent of terrorism does not equal supporting terrorism. At all.

Did I say open an investigation? No, I said look into, it's been happening for years already.
