Explosion in Boston?

You are speculating, which is fine, but don't act like it's the end all be all truth until we know the facts for sure. Didn't mean to get you so grumpy. Chin up buddy. :)

The only thing that is speculative was me saying "carried out an attack as a vendetta against a culture he was rebelling against"

There are quotes, by him, about how he doesn't like the lack of values in the US, he doesn't have any American friends (even though he has lived here since he was a child) and doesn't understand American culture.

It's also a fact that he was a devout Muslim.

It hasn't been proven, however, that the YouTube activity was his but I already gave a very explicit disclaimer (which you might not have read... I'm going to assume you have not followed the Boston Univ article I linked nor the Washington Post article I linked as it's, like, hard to look stuff up on your own) that I'm basing my opinion on the assumption that his YouTube activity is verifiable as his which would be relatively easy for the FBI to do.

Regardless, keep on keeping on with the condescending tone though, it's a pretty obvious tell.

Is anyone else still wondering how this kid broke through a police barricade, with helos flying overhead, and about 100+ cops surrounding him and then just disappeared?

it sounds like a movie scene you would shake your head at while watching

So let me get this straight...3 people killed and 178 others injured or missing limbs on monday...last night we had a massive gun fight with multiple explosions....one of the bombers killed that was armed with multiple weapons and explosives...the other bomber, presumeably still armed to the teeth is roaming around Boston as we speak....Boston is effectively shut down during the manhunt.

....tell me again why a citizen would never need a AR-15 with a 30 round magazine for protection?

You know, although I've kind of being on the other side of the fence from your posts today so far, I tend to equate this period in Islamic history with Christianity's Crusades. I think they're going through a similar period of radicalization (although the Crusade were just as often about plunder as ideology; same is frequently the case in Islamist work as well), and it will be obviously violent and long, but at the end of the day (assuming it runs the same course), I think things will change. Not a perfect analogy, but one I think fitting before many self-righteous Christians (I'm not referring to you) think themselves so much better.

On another note, are you a veteran? If so, thanks for your service!

Yep and my pleasure. The biggest problem is education, or lack there of, which you had mentioned before. Just like Christianity some tend to take their holy book a bit to literal. And no matter what anyone says almost every Muslim country is excessively repressive. Combine that with ignorance and you will get problems. Some of the Pakistani's I worked with, who I treated with respect (and a slice of fear since a few days before I watched them shoot into a crowd of people protesting our appearance in their town..), told me that even though I was the first American they had met I was nothing like they were led to believe we all are like.

The thing with Islam though, and it's my opinion from my own experience in that part of the world, that its a LOT more than a "small minority" in regards to the radicalization.

Best post of this thread thus far, imo.

I don''t have a straight story on that, but I doubt that he has escaped the immediate area. One article said he drove through a police line in the SUV. Another article showed a picture of the SUV, as if it were abandoned. If the SUV has Navistar, then the police would be able to track it. There is a BOLO out for another car, so maybe he is believed to have changed vehicles. It seems impossible for him to have gotten very far, either in a car on on foot, so maybe he entered another person's nearby residence.

Obama will use as example of why we need to ban them.

Link on that?

This thread has had plenty of people posting facts and people willfully ignoring the evidence already compiled and released by the FBI or through existing resources and calling the people who are posting facts idiots.

Also, in line with just about every other Muslim:

The boys call themselves Muslims but they are not. These are bastards, monsters and hypocrites falsely using the name of God. They never followed a good code of behavior or morals to be Muslims

Extremists aren't seen as Muslims. They bastardize the religion using hyperbole and a very hardline world view to manipulate people. That pretty much echoes what my Muslim friends have said about terrorism/extremism before.

They're a disgrace to themselves and Muslims. However, to pretend that they don't exist is very naive.

I've already given the quote... it's in the Boston Univ expose from 2010. I'm not going to pander laziness.

Hell, googling "Tsarvaev lack of values" will find it for you.

LG, I think it's time you learn to gather information on your own.

A million things would flash through one's mind. Shoot his tires out, shoot him, follow him in one of the 50+cruisers sitting behind that barricade. Have the Helo stay on him.

You don't rely on Navstar in an event like this.

In what universe does one average citizen get off 30 rounds against one terrorist?

And even if so, does that justify the murders we can point to over the years accomplished, at least in some part, to enormo-magazines?

You mean the one quote from a lifetime, to which you assign the broad conclusion that he hates our culture? The one from the one source? The one that is no longer there?

Ok, folks, case closed. Everyone can just go on home.

Just google "will box for citizenship" you will see first hand all about that quote and many more.

That is an irrelevant point.

He never said getting off 30 rounds against one terrorist. Way to twist that original statement.

I'm saying if I were sitting at home in Boston and this guy is on the loose, and police resources are tied up trying to catch him, then I'm going to want as much firepower as I can have considering he may be wearing armor, have explosives rigged on him, etc.

If I'm looking at my gun and I have a 10 round mag and a 30 round mag to choose from, I'm going to start off with the 30 round mag every single time.

...I suspect if you were honest with yourself you would too.
