Since we are gearing up for the stretch run, let's get everyone on record as to what our final record will be?

For me, I think it comes down to which Mizzou team shows up when we play them. Do we get the team that curb-stomped Florida and squeaked one out in South Carolina? Or do we get the team that lost ugly to a putrid Indiana team?

We are going to truck Vandy, and we'll get by Kentucky coming off a bye week.

I don't think we win in Columbia, but I'd still give us a 35% chance of pulling an upset there.

So I am really at 5.5, which I'll round up to 6-6. The difference between 5-7 and 7-5 will likely be a couple of plays one way or the other. Really the question becomes do you think we can make those plays.

6-6 and 5-7 are equally likely, and any other outcome is unlikely imo. I have serious concerns about this team, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and say they beat UK and either Mizzou or SC, neither of which are very good, thereby getting 6 wins and a bowl berth.

6 n 6 I think this staff knows what will happen if they don't make a bowl so I think they find a way to get six.

Saying that my confidence keeps dropping every week..

5-7 :furious3:

I also wouldn't expect to see any coaching changes unless some of our guys get good offers from other schools. Now, I've been critical in a few posts this weekend of our OL coach and our OC. But, honestly, I think it would be premature to run them off while we are still clearly trying to recover from the Dooley stench. We've developed a rep as a fanbase for eating our own. We probably need to give these guys every opportunity to be successful. Hell, even muschump got four years and he inherited a much better situation than Butch did.

I don't believe they will win on the road at SC, and if Mizzou can go into the swamp and destroy Florida, they certainly can come into Neyland and beat the Vols.

KU is a push. I have no idea how that game comes out.

Vandy is the only team I believe we'll be favored to beat the rest of the year.

I don't see anyone left on this schedule that is a for sure win other than Vandy...

Sadly, even this is not a true lock, depending on how things play out. Injuries at the wide out position did us in last year, and our depth at multiple positions is paper thin.

Vandy might be in worse shape than us by the end, though. Watching their games early on, I believe their summer strength and conditioning program consists primarily of Snicker's eating constests.

I'm hoping for a 7-5 final record. I think this team will be hungry to get a bowl game after losing to Alabama.

I think a more realistic record would be 6-6.

Our complete lack of offensive production makes 4-8 a likely if not optimistic outcome. You cant field a respectable SEC team without consistent Offensive Line play. Gonna be a little while fella's, sorry.

ESPN projects us as a favorite right now against Kentucky, Mizzou and Vandy, but with a few injuries that can change in a hurry.

I think Sagarin agrees with this as well based on his power rankings.

Even then, the mathematical probability that we can win the last 3 based on being a slight favorite against Mizzou and Kentucky and a strong favorite against Vandy: 33%.

Still, I lean 6-6. Even 5-7 would be very close to most people's preseason expectations back when no one realized the difficulties our young OL would have blocking the most basic schemes. We knew they'd struggle, but no one imagined what we are seeing right now.

You're saying we don't beat Vandy OR Kentucky? Really?
I think we go 6-6, assuming we lose to Bama and win to Kentucky/Vandy, we will likely split South Carolina/Mizzou. Mizzoue won by a lot, but Florida mostly beat themselves, as Mizzou had like no offense in that game.

It gets better after Bama. We have been playing Elite defense (Ole Miss, Oklahoma, Florida) When we play "normal" defenses, we tend to score 30 points a game. (Georgia, Arkansas State, Utah State, Chattanooga).. Our Defense will keep us in games, I just hope our team isn't too beat up.

Mizzou still has a decent defensive front so we will be screwed there and our record against SEC teams on the road is horrid(SC). We have to win one of those though or it won't be pretty.

We are producing nothing offensively except the occasional field goal when we luck in to decent field position. Until that line is anywhere in the vicinity of squared away nothing is a gimmee. IMHO

On a positive, our defense, if they maintain their level of play, SHOULD be able to shut KY and Vandy down.

That is what worries me.

On the other side of the ball, though, Barnett and AJ will be so deep inside Maty's helmet that it will take years of therapy to put him back together.

I watched some of the Florida game, to me it just looked like Florida couldn't stop beating themselves, the Mizzou offense isn't good.

Get past this week, and see no reason why we cant win 3 out of the last 4, Vandy is a sure win, Kentucky showed what they are, Mizz scored most of there points on special teams and defence under 150 yards total offence, see no reason we cant beat them, SC is reeling sounds crazy we really could win the last 4 with a little luck, this sounds crazy to we got a shot at bama this week, one of these days the ball is going to bounce our way, and that just be this week, KEEP YOUR HEAD UP, WE ARE GOING TO KICK SOMEBODY AZZ ONE OF THESE DAYS. GO VOLS BUCK BAMA AMD little nicky and wanny boy, I hate them SOBs, and bama to.:lolabove:

I agree with this entirely. A bowl game hinges on splitting the Mizzou-SCjr games. I would just as soon go ahead and beat SCjr to take some of the heat off. UK and Vandy are both wins imo.

4-8 with our 4th win coming against Vandy.

I don't want to be nega but the line is getting worse . Worley is hearing ghosts , and right now all a good D has to do to beat us is rush 3 d-lineman and a safety . UM has a very good d-line . If kentucky sells out every play they beat us . So will SC throw the sink at us ? Probably not but they know they can score enough points at home to win . Vandy lets just hope Patton isn't playing . So right now at this moment 5 wins is max with the way there playing .
